Just Tryin’ to Hustle Up Some ECBs

I made it to CVS twice this week, basically just to make some ECBs. Nothing too exciting, although it was fun as always!

me likey get paid to shop

Early in the week, I did this transaction:
Contour meter $14.99
2 Colgate $5.98
Propel $.40 (clearance for some reason – this surprised me!)
Schick Intuition razor $8.99
Total = $30.36
Coupons I used:
CVS $3/$15 (for some reason this only took off $1.50, but i didn’t complain!)
up to $30 off Contour meter (-$14.99)
two $1.50 off Colgate q’s
$2 off Schick Intuition q
Total = $8.87
I paid with 8 ECB and paid, with tax $2.34. I got back 5 ECB for the meter, 4 for the toothpaste, and 5 for the razor, for a total of 14 ECB. Yay!

Then on Thursday, I had to ring in the New Year by getting those January monthly deals!

made some moolah on this one

Two throat cooler pops $9.98
Nasogel $7.99
Clorox toilet wand refills (we needed these! My CVS has been out of them forever.) $3.89
Total = $21.86
Coupons:
CVS $3/$15
BOGO free throat cooler coupon $4.99
$2 off Nasogel coupon
Total = $11.87
I paid with an 8.99 and 3 ECB (adjusted down to 2.88) and paid 49 cents cash and got back 9.98 ECB for the throat cooler pops and 7.99 for the nasogel for a total of 17.97. Woohoo!

That’s all the fun I had this week, hope you all did great! For more CVS-capades, check out CVS Superstars at the Centsible Sawyer.

2008: A Year in Review

2008 was a great year for Emily and I and Mommin’ It Up! Em had a baby, I got my eyebrows waxed, and we launched our review blog! In case you missed any of it, I picked out a favorite post from each month of 2008…I hope you’ll join my trip down memory lane and read them all. Happy New Year everyone! We love and appreciate all of you!

January: I scare the meter reader and deal with mystery turd #1

February: Emily has a good laugh at my expense. Or lack of expense.

March: Emily and I hit the brand-new IKEA store in our area. And ALMOST buy the correct items!

April: Emily pops out baby Sammy, and more importantly, I don’t have to wait any longer to know if it’s a boy or a girl. GEEZ.

May: A kid on Kate’s t-ball team makes the best blog fodder. EVAH.

June: Emily smokes crack, and is therefore a much more fun mommy than I am.

July: Mystery Turd 2: Electric Boogaloo! Nancy Drew tries to solve the case.

August: An old lady pisses Emily off. Watch out, Grandma!

September: We got a hurricane in Ohio. It was WEIRD. And windy.

October: I FINALLY wean Sophie at 23 months. Oy.

November: Emily and Oprah are like twinsies. And also 83-year-old ladies are smart.

December: My lady business is perfect. (According to my OB-GYN. I’m just sayin’.)

I had way too much fun putting this together. I must say Emily and I crack me up! So…at least that’s one of us…I hope you all reminisce with me and have a laugh too!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Let’s make 2009 a great one!

Super Savings Slacker!

Oh friends of the blogosphere, I did not do too much couponing this week! I did go to CVS this week, but alas, I have hidden my bag o’ goodies from myself so I can’t take a picture!! This Momnesia is really killing me!! But I will tell you that my transaction resulted in me paying 77 cents for 2 Dove lotions, a Fusion razor and a Venus Embrace razor. YAY! And I got to use the Walgreens $5/$25 coupon at CVS since mine takes competitor coupons. And I got overage on the Dove with coupons and a CRT. It was all very exciting. I just wish I had a pic to show you!

Speaking of Walgreens, I did go there to get some Christmas presents since they had a spend $25, get $5 register reward promo going on, and I still had some $$ left on my Walgreens rebate gift card. So here is what I got!

buying Christmas presents at Walgreens

The Little Einsteins bingo, magnetic drawing board, and Littlest Pet Shop were 3/$13.98
The pig webkinz (Merry Christmas Kate!) was $6.99
Colgate $2.99
Kleenex 89 cents each with Wags coupon
I had $8.55 on my gift card and a $1 off q for the toothpaste. My total was $17.99 after those and I got a $5 Register Reward for spending $25 and a $2 RR for the Colgate so my net total was $10.99 for all that, including 4 Christmas presents for some of the kids in my life! YAY!

That’s all I did this week. Hopefully next week CVS will have some more EXCITING sales and I can get my groove on again! To see how everyone else did, check out CVS Superstars at The Centsible Sawyer and Super Savings Saturday at Money Saving Mom.
