I think Sophie, at 22 months, is headed in the same drama-rama direction as her cousin Kate. (And her friend Ashlyn – right Kristyn?) For quite some time now, if she falls down or bumps her head or suffers some various other minor boo-boo, she’ll say “Okay? Awwight?” Asking herself if she’s ok, and asking you to ask her.
It’s very cute. Trust me.
But her latest trick?
Apparently because I don’t pay enough attention to her, she now gently sets herself down on the floor, then looks around to see that you’re watching, and says, “Okay? Awwight?” with a wounded look on her face.
That’s right, the Oscar goes to: Sophia Diane, for Best Actress in the Fake Injury category.
I don’t even wanna think about the “what-am-I-gonna-wear-to-the-Oscar-ceremony” drama!! Shoot me.
My little Drama-Queen-In-Training doesn’t even talk much yet! Can you imagine the exaggerations that will soon spout forth from her little lips? Until then, she’ll have to stick with the physical drama-logues.
What do your little ones do for the sake of the Almighty Drama?
I wish you could hear me laughing.
My twin girls are 22 months old and the one that is less-verbal does the same thing, but only when she coughs or sneezes. I guess this comes from us always saying “are you okay?” to her older brother when he swallows wrong or gets choked up at the table or something. So now anytime she coughs or sneezes she’ll say “okay? okay?” but she doesn’t do it to anyone else, just herself 🙂
My 16-month-old gets down on her hands and knees and very gently bumps her head against the floor. She then lifts her head, looks up at me, toddles over, and wants to cuddle, whimpering the whole time.
With the middle name Diane, she is entitled to be a drama queen. Okay? Awwight?
Love,
Diane
Welcome to the world of “little girl drama!” Its amazing how early they work it!!!! Sorry to say, it only gets worse as they learn to manipulate even better!
My little drama queen puts on quite a show for any owie. It is the highlighted subject for several days and any problem she has is directly related to her owie. We went to see the Doodlebops on Sunday and all she wanted during the concert was to be able to show them her owie.
Just wait until she blames you for not winning a game of bingo in school when she gets home after a long day of second grade.
Oh wait, that’s my life.
Oh my gosh, that just melted my cold, cold heart! How could you resist?
Our almost 22 month old talks in her own language – totally not understandable. SHE NOW complains in the language too with waving arms and pointing fingers letting her audience know that she is unhappy with her circumstances….
She’s a cute little drama queen. I hope it doesn’t get too bad!
Precious- and as the proud mama of 4 drama queens I’m happy to inform you that the adorabe little drama queens turn into teen drama queens (notice the lack of adorable) and then… they turn into blogging drama queens who declare themselves head dictator of the loonyverse. Yep, you’ve got a lot to look forward to. 😉
She is a smart little girl….She apparently knows how to work the system! see you Friday! It has been forever and can’t wait to see you guys! I am plopping my self in the middle of the dining room table and, looking pitiful will say, “give me some Mt. Dew! awight!?
22 mos? You ain’t seen nothin’ till you hit the 2s and 3s. Brace yourself for a wild ride!!
