Review: LEGO Ramses Pyramid

When LEGO contacted me about reviewing this Ramses Pyramid game, I was like, “Hmm this looks a little too advanced for my six-year-old.”  So, I decided to let my 10-year-old LEGO-crazed nephew review it, and it was a HIT!  As a matter of fact, my sister-in-law even said she had been considering purchasing this as part of their home school curriculum!

This LEGO game is great because well, first you have to BUILD it, so it covers all different skill sets.  It’s also set up so you can establish some of your own rules, and the play is very entertaining and action-oriented.  So, it’s a game, it’s a history lesson, it’s a strategy-builder, and it’s a toy – all in one!   My nephews have really enjoyed it and if you have a LEGOmaniac in your family, I am sure they will too. It retails for only $29.99 and you can get it at Lego.com!

LEGO sent me this game to review.  I posted my opinions after consulting with my LEGO expert nephew and his mom.  This post was not edited by LEGO.  Like I would let anyone else edit my blog posts! Please!! 🙂

Cleanest diaper I ever saw

Oh, hi there, remember me?  I’m one of those two girls who used to write actual blog posts before they started doing all these crazy back-to-school giveaways (which you have til  Monday at 3 pm to enter! So do it!)!!

So, anyways, the giveaway posts are done and now I have a tale to tell, about how graceful and coordinated I am.  And how, as all of you know, I am a perfect housewife.

And my fabulous new Frigidaire Affinity washer & dryer *might* figure into said tale.  Which starts like this:

A couple of months ago, in the same week in which I began the HELL on earth that was potty training Sophie, I accidentally (because really, WHO would do that on PURPOSE?)  threw a DIAPER in the wash with Sophie’s pee-pee laundry.  When I opened my beautiful new washer (which I had less than 2 weeks at that point) I was horrified to see that gel stuff that is inside diapers ALL OVER my washer, and Sophie’s CLOTHES.  When I realized what I had done, I was slightly despondent.

When I realized I was going to have to scoop that diaper-gel all out by hand, I was severely despondent.

And then, I was thankful.  For three things: 1) That my Frigidaire Affinity washer & dryer BOTH have a “Sanitize” setting, 2) that the diaper I washed was only a pee-pee diaper and contained no poop and 3) that my Frigidaire washer also came with a coupon for Tide Washing Machine cleaner (which I had learned about at Fabric Care University).

I raced to the store with said coupon, bought the cleaner, ran it through my washer, and WOW it was never so clean, not even when it was brand-new!

Then, I sanitized the CRAP (oh, pun SO, SO intended) out of those clothes with the “sanitize” setting.

My Frigidaire appliances are fortunately much more graceful and coordinated than I am.  And SO much better at doing laundry than I am.  If only they could cook dinner and bear children, they’d probably replace housewives altogether!

This review is part of my participation in the Frigidaire Test Drive program.  I am on Team Washer and Dryer and totally get to keep said bad-a** appliances.  Thanks to Frigidaire and Mom Central for making me a part of this awesome campaign!
