Let’s pretend this never happened. Tomorrow.

Because tonight is going to be a classic.

Jenny and I have been waiting on tenterhooks for MONTHS – Jenny Lawson aka The Bloggess is going to be at our favorite Dayton-area bookstore, Books & Co., for a book signing.

We are pretty much beside ourselves with excitement.

As you may remember, The Bloggess and I go WAY back – we had our picture taken together at the Mom 2.0 Summit last May.

Only she didn’t know it was happening.

I told you tonight was going to be a classic.

It’s also bound to be the BEST NIGHT OF JENNY’S LIFE. (My Jenny, not Jenny the Bloggess. Although it’ll probably rank right up there for her too.) Why will this be the best night of Jenny’s life, you ask? Because if you haven’t noticed, the girl LOVES to embarrass me, and tonight will provide a prime opportunity for that. And really, thanks to the massive amount of vomit she’s been cleaning up for the last couple of months, she doesn’t have a lot to compare this to. I think she’s forgotten what it’s like to have a night out – especially one that involves me and Andrea. So as long as I can detach the Lysol can and up-chuck bucket from her hands, it is going to be the best night ever.

In the meantime, if you haven’t read “Let’s Pretend this Never Happened,” DO IT. Unless you are (my) Jenny’s mom (and probably Jenny Lawson’s mom too). In which case, DO NOT DO IT. m’kay?

Can you tell I’m a bit geeked out about this???

So now that I’m traumatized, someone suggest a TV show to watch that is not so stressful.

How’s that for the longest blog post title ever?

You guys.

I cannot handle Breaking Bad.

You all must be wayyyyy braver than I am, because so many of you were all “Breaking Bad is awesome!” a few weeks ago, but Andy and I have watched like three or four episodes and I think I am done. I can’t handle the stress!!

And OMG people, there is a lot of blood.

As it turns out, there is a reason I only watch Modern Family and The Big Bang Theory – I am a wimp.

But I haven’t given up hope that Andy and I can find a show we can get into together (because I am not watching Battlestar Galactica or whatever it’s called with him) – I just need to find one that won’t increase my blood pressure.

So, where does that leave me? Any suggestions? Girls? Parks & Rec? 30 Rock? Sesame Street?

NPR reminded me that I am not cool.

So yesterday I was listening to NPR (that’s not why I’m not cool. Listening to NPR is one of the only things I get cool points for), and there was a story on about how the new Must See TV shows all have main characters that are bad, but that they make you love.

I had no freaking clue what they were talking about. I have never seen ANY of the shows they were referencing.

Breaking Bad? Nope.

Weeds? Never heard of it.

Some new Kevin Spacey thing on Netflix that’s going to change the way we view television? My “recently watched” account is 100% animated content.

I can’t even remember the other shows that people are IN LOVE with because – once again – I am completely unfamiliar with them.

I don’t watch Girls, and I have zero interest in Downton Abbey (come on, even the spelling is pretentious. Cue the angry mobs with pitchforks).

I love me some Big Bang Theory and Modern Family, although sadly the most recent several episodes of each sit unwatched on my DVR (I am, however, completely caught up on “Teen Mom 2”).

But the NPR story made me want to get into something, so I don’t feel like a complete loser – but I’m not sure which show I should try.

Which is where you come in, people. Someone tell me what series I should get into! Preferably something Andy and I can enjoy together (he will not watch Teen Mom, sadly). Oh, and I hate violence and stress. And things without happy endings. And ESPECIALLY things without endings at all (I’m looking at you, Lost).

But other than that, I’m totally open!

So help me, friends. Make me cool! Or at least, you know, not utterly and completely clueless about post-1990s pop culture.
