My Skin Care Routine and #RoCAcademy Giveaway!

I am participating in a skin care review campaign with the Motherhood and RoC, for which I am being compensated. All opinions on the product are my own.

Skin care is very important to me, y’all. Because as I wrote many years ago, you only get ONE face, and you gotta take care of it! And as Emily may have mentioned several times, I REALLY LOVE MY FACE.

I think Emily exaggerates when she talks about how much I love my selfies.

So ever since I turned 30 (a really long time ago, sigh), I’ve been taking great care of my skin. Every morning I use a cleanser and a day moisturizer with SPF, and every night I cleanse again and then put on a night moisturizer so my skin can be repaired while I get my byoo-tay sleep. I also use an eye cream morning and night to help with dark circles, puffiness, and fine lines around my eyes.

Listen, people, no one is ever CUTTING or sticking a NEEDLE into my face! So I am taking care of my skin to keep the wrinkles at bay!

Recently I got to review some RoC skin care products, and I am happy to say they fit perfectly in with my established skin care routine! I first started using RoC’s resurfacing cleanser last year after I got a sample at Mom 2.0, and I loved it. So I was excited to review their whole line of anti-aging skin care products! I’m also learning some really helpful information about skin care from RoC’s online resource, RoC Academy, and  I’ll be sharing all my new skin care smarts with you in another post later this month. In the meantime, check out my video review below, then stay tuned for a giveaway!

SO far I am LOVING these products and what they are doing for my skin! I’m really excited to share them with you!

You can get these fabulous products at drug and grocery stores, including Walgreens!

Some of my fellow RoC Academy skin care cadets and myself will be hosting a #RoCAcademy skin care Twitter party  on Thursday, April 3 at 1 pm EST and I hope you’ll join us! We’ll have a board-certified dermatologist on hand to answer your skin care questions, and of course, lots of great prizes! Here’s the invite so you can get all the info you need and RSVP!

And speaking of prizes, I’m giving away a fabulous RoC Skin Care basket to one lucky commenter on this post! Simply comment below with a skin care question for me and I’ll choose a winner at random. I’ll also choose a couple of the questions to answer in my next post.

The contest will be open until 6 pm EST on Friday, March 21st. Can’t wait to hear all your skin care questions!

Now go take care of your FACE!

  1. I need to take better care of my skin– I’m a slacker!! Anyway, that said, here’s my question– what product would you most recommend for fine lines on the forehead? Now that I’m hanging in those mid (okay, mid to late) thirties, I notice little horizontal lines, not all the the time, but enough to annoy the tar out of me. Other than bangs (which are not all that flattering on my short forehead), do you have any recs?

    1. JessieLeigh!!! That is my EXACT problem! Notice how I always cut my forehead out of my #doyournakeup pics? So I will definitely be answering this one. 🙂 (I hate bangs, too.)

  2. I have very dry skin and whenever I use liquid foundation (after putting moisturizer on first) it still looks cakey and all the little dry skin flakes come to the surface again looking awful. Any recommendations?

  3. What cleanser do you recommend? And do you have any tips for removing eye make up? I don’t use water proof but I still have a hard time getting it to come off.

  4. I ditto Missy question, same thing for my dry skin too. I’ve tried mineral foundation but it doesn’t give me the coverage I want since I have redness on my cheeks that is hard to cover up.

  5. i have uneven skin tone that makes me nuts. i am super pale and have some old acne marks and some sun damage (despite wearing sunscreen every day). what can help even me out?

  6. I need a really easy skin care routine. I am a serious slacker and only wash my face at night if I have mascara on. Otherwise I just hop in to bed and wash my face in the morning. Can you help me with a simple routine and products that won’t cost an arm and a leg?

  7. I am having a hard time finding a light moisturizer. They seem so heavy! What moisturizer do you use for every day wear and which one do you use for nighttime. Any ideas for removing redness?

  8. What’s a good product for dryness and fine lines under your eyes? I’ve yet to find one that works.

  9. When I met my mother in law 17 years ago, she taught me about taking care of my skin. She is 57 and looks awesome! Anyways, I have always taken great care of my skin but I still have lines around my eyes. What can I use to help these?

  10. Hi, Jenny. I have tried using a bunch of products to lighten the brown spots on my forehead, with no luck. I have heard that Roc is good (which is how I found your blog.) Will it work, or is there a laser in my future?

  11. My skin is red. Red. And I hate it. Not irritated red, just red. I have to use special makeup for redness because “regular” concealers cover my skin, but not the red and I just end up with a red face. What can I do to even out my skin tone and dial down the redness?

Also, (I get two questions, right?!) I have never in my years found a moisturizer that doesn’t leave my face oily and sweaty. And I have spent oodles on name brand “oil-free” moisturizers, all to be trashed. Whatcha got for that?

And finally, you do have a possibly unhealthy forehead-less face obsession. But, of all the face postings, the middle one with the pink shirt is, by far, my favorite.

  12. I have dry skin that’s also pretty sensitive, i’d love some tips to help restore moisture in my skin!

  13. I am almost 30 & I have oily, but sensitive skin do you think it’s recommended or safe to use Retinol products on a daily basis or just a couple times a week only?

  14. I want to know if toner is a good idea or not. I have friends that swear by it and others that swear they’d never touch it. Who’s right?

  15. Please don’t think I’m weird…..I’ve noticed that my ears are also changing….should I be using my serum & moisturizer on them too ?? I’ve been trying to always sleep on my back since I noticed that my face was a little flatter on the right side since I slept that way, now I see my right ear is also flatter and has some crinkles

  16. Does anything actually work for dark undereye circles? Also, any way to tell which products/brands have the highest concentration of active ingredients?
