The Pre-Travel Freak-Out Begins

So, in case you haven’t heard, Emily and I are leaving bright and early Thursday morning for BlogHer. And we are soooo excited! (wanna see some of the fabulous clothes we are wearing thanks to Lands’ End? Check out my Blissful Style post here!) But as always, I have 50 million things to do before we leave that I am STRESSING about. So, I thought I’d share them with you in an attempt to make myself feel better, and maybe my brain feel a bit more organized:

1) Do my laundry
2) Press my beautiful yellow dress
3) Buy some heels to wear with my beautiful yellow dress (done! score!)
4) Pay bills
5) Buy stamps with which to mail bills
6) Do my kids’ laundry so my BFF Luanne who is babysitting will have clothes to dress them in!
7) Go to the grocery so Luanne will also have FOOD to feed them
8 ) clean out my car so Luanne won’t have to drive around a rolling trash bin
9) Pack!
10) Finish writing this week’s posts for Blissful Style
11) Clean the house so Luanne won’t have to watch my kids in squalor
12) Work on my speadsheet (which I got from Emily, Queen of all Spreadsheets) so I’ll know WHERE I am supposed to be WHEN at BlogHer. Because my brain is incapable of keeping track.
13) Charge my camera batteries
14) Order business cards for Emily & myself

Ok, well…that’s all I can think of now…but I’ll add more as I think of them and cross things off as I finish. Ready, set GO!

FREE is the New Black!

I got back in the CVS action last week (but I was in Florida at the end of the week so I neglected to post my finds!) and AGAIN this week. That’s right, I have been two weeks in a row! They’ve been having a lot of back-to-school freebies so I couldn’t resist! Here’s what I got this week:

DSC01764

I got all of this for 70 cents out-of-pocket! I used about 15 ECBs and got back about 21 ECBs! I used a $5/$25 Rite Aid coupon (my CVS takes competitor q’s) and one $2 and two $1 manufacturer q’s for the Tylenol – plus I had a CVS CRT for $2 off any Tylenol and another one for $2.50 off a $10 pain reliever purchase! The Tylenol wa $3.99 with 3 ECB back, so I “made” a few bucks on it! All the school supplies were free after ECB so it was a GREAT shopping week! Here’s hoping they keep bringing on the deals, I had a great time getting my coupon on this week!

I Suck.

So last week I mentioned one of the classes I’m taking… the one I described as “horrible” and “hideous.” (Both of which are apt descriptions, btw).

Yesterday I checked again to see if grades were posted online, and sure enough they were… and unfortunately there was a big ol’ C+ staring at me. And where the lovely “4.0” had been just hours before, I found “3.71” instead.

When I started the course, I knew its reputation, and I went into it thinking that I just wanted to get a C and get credit and call it a day. During the last week of the course, however, I found out that my degree program requires As or Bs to pass. Great. So, at this point I’m not sure that this class is going to count toward my degree, and that sucks.

Basically, though, I just feel stupid and I’m mad at myself – I certainly didn’t put a whole lot of effort into the course, and now I’m paying the consequences for that. And while I know that’s true and that it’s my own dumb fault, I’m also disappointed that the time and money I spent on the course may go to waste, and extremely disappointed that I am probably three hours further from getting my degree than I thought.

I’ve emailed the professor, groveling, hoping there’s something I can do to turn the C+ into a B-, but who knows if he’ll take pity on me.

Ugh. I suck.
