One of the things on my must-have baby products list this time around was a sling. The options that are available boggled my mind, so I turned to our readers for help. But I was still confused! So I did some more searching and ran across an online vendor who just happens to live in the next town over from me, and I emailed her for help. Jennifer at Firefly Baby came to my rescue, and invited me over to her house to try slings on. She was super nice and very helpful, so if you need a sling, I highly recommend Firefly Baby!
I had pretty much decided on a ring sling before going to Jennifer’s house… but when I tried on a Moby Wrap, I knew it was the one for me!
It seemed a little complicated at first, but with a little practice, it’s easy to put on, and easy to get Sam into. I love how secure and snug he feels when he’s in it. In the last two weeks, I’ve worn him in it to the bookstore, Babies R Us, Kate’s t-ball practice, on walks around the neighborhood, and even to a concert! He really likes being in it and it is great to be able to have my hands free sometimes, because this baby likes to be held!
Speaking of Sam, I hear him giving his dad trouble upstairs… gotta run! The Moby Wrap works for me, and for other WFMW tips, head over to Rocks in my Dryer.
And to check out Jenny’s irrational totally normal pre-travel jitters, head over here.
i just asked jenny about this very thing! a couple questions: 1 – is it hard to operate? the demonstration pictures look a bit intimidating! 2 – have you tried nursing in it? how hard is it to switch baby’s position without “unwrapping” yourself? i’ll have a two year old and a newborn, so 3 – how much will i really use this? So glad you posted about this!!!
I watched a video on youtube to teach me how to put it on right. For those of you out there that are curious, just go to youtube and do a search for moby wrap.
I LOVED MY MOBY!! Technically I still could be using mine, but my baby girl is 20 lbs and I haven’t really tried the side hold yet.
Good information….
Thanks for sharing.

I love my Moby as well!
When your little one gets to big for that the Mai Tei style carriers are fabulous!
I had a ring sling with KT and I hated it. Never could get it comfortable for me or her and she never felt secure–I always felt like I STILL had to have a hand there for when she would (inevitably) fall.
But the Moby Wrap……….ah, BEAUTIFUL! I love it. If I bought one, I wonder if I could carry the cat around in it since I”m fairly certain it won’t work for tweens and teens. 🙁
Ok, went to You Tube as someone suggested. SWEET! I so totally want to have another baby so I can use a Moby Wrap!
Ok, that’s not going to happen, so I emailed my niece who just had a baby on Friday and linked her to Firefly and to YouTube and told her I’ll buy her one if she wants it! 🙂
And of course, I’ll buy it from Jennifer if she does. Based on your GLOWING recommendation!
i loved my moby. glad you are enjoying it too! but where’s the pic of sam in it? 🙂
I love the idea and when another baby comes along I am totally getting one!
