You’ve gotta see this.

Around the first of the year, I found a new site where lots of my favorite bloggers were writing. It’s called Curvy Girl Guide and I love it.

Yesterday they put up a post called “Getting Real About Weight” and I thought it was amazing – and I think you should totally check it out.

You will not find me there – I am not that brave. But apparently a LOT of women are, because check out this Flickr page that they started yesterday.

Empowering – that’s the word I use to describe it.

So, people, would you ever do that? Would you put your picture and your WEIGHT out there for the world to see? Why or why not?

  1. So cool! I think this is one of the things I like about Weight Watchers, it makes the number just part of the whole, not the entire focus. I track measurements with my weight and its so much more satisfying.

  2. would not do it! want to keep everyone guessing… although, actually, who really cares about what I weigh except me?

  3. I used to be obsessed with weighing, 3, 4 times a day…now…not so much…I just walk, try to eat sensibly, and weigh once every few days.

    It’s just too much stress!

  4. I love you too!

Also, I did post my picture and weight. Though, the picture was from December when I was 30 pounds heavier.

I figure I’ve been blogging my weight loss before and after surgery, this is nothing!

  5. Let’s not forget that “real” includes naturally thin women too. I’m one of those who has trouble gaining and even though I’m in the healthy BMI range, I get a lot of nasty comments about being skinny. Despite being thin, I don’t really have a great body, but it works and I’m currently 34 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby 🙂 I would and I have shared my picture and weight to help educate people and hopefully share another view of what healthy and normal look like. Last summer I even volunteered for a lingerie show just to get over some self-consciousness. It was fun! (and terrifying!)
