Tuesday I walked in on the most amazing conversation between my two oldest. They were sitting on the kitchen floor, coloring together (why on the floor? I have no idea). I was headed into the kitchen for some reason when I heard Sophie say:
“Don’t you think I’m the best sister ever?”
Joshua gave her a sideways glance. “Well, you’re the only sister I have, so…”
Sophie took this as a “yes” and beamed at him. “I like you too!”
Poor Sophie. She’s too young to recognize indifference when she sees it.
As the little sister of TWO older brothers, I am well versed in brotherly indifference. Case en pointe, I of course Facebooked about this hilarious convo and tagged my dear, dear brothers in my post:
Please note that none of the 14 likes or 4 comments belonged to either of my brothers. Even now they’re too busy for little sister’s attempts at attention-getting!
Harumph.
I feel ya, Sophie!
Try being the sensitive middle son between two jocks!
UP
Winning by default is still a win!
They will still be messing with you when you are all elderly! In your oldest brother’s defense, he hasn’t even been home a total of six awake hours since Sunday!
I totally can relate! I too have 2 older brothers….but of course, then I got 2 younger sisters….and they get all the attention 🙁
