Sammy’s first word

Sammy said his first word this morning. Teddy.

I didn’t hear it, his dad did, but it doesn’t surprise me that “teddy” was the magic word – he loves the little blue bear that he sleeps with every night (the one I almost took back to Babies R Us because surely we didn’t need another stuffed animal).

He is always babbling, and often says “dada” and “mama,” but I’m never 100% convinced he is saying those things on purpose. But “teddy” is harder to blow off.

My baby is getting so big, I can hardly stand it. It seems like he was just born! But here we are about ready to celebrate his first birthday. He’s pulling up and cruising all over the place, and soon he’ll be walking. And then life, as we know it, will be over.

I know this post is fascinating, but thanks for indulging me. This blog is as close as Sam’s going to get to a baby book, so I had to put this milestone down for posterity!

And while we’re on the subject, is he cute or what? 🙂

  1. Emily, he is the cutest thing ever (well except for maybe my own babies 🙂 I think its harder to watch that second baby grow up than it was with the first. I can hardle believe my baby will be 2 🙁

  2. Beautiful. I’m watching my youngest get bigger as well. It’s hard to believe she’s the same baby who was born 9 months ago. Thank you so much for sharing Sammy’s first word with the world!
