If the writers stay on strike…

I know how I’m going to spend my tv-watching time.

Three letters.

CMT.

Yes, you heard me right. CMT.

The home of the BEST SHOW ON TELEVISION.

My Big Redneck Wedding.

It’s like TLC’s “A Wedding Story,” but much… trashier. It follows real couples as they plan their “special” day.

You’ll hardly believe your eyes. I mean, tell me the last time you went to a wedding and ended up buying a wood splitter they auctioned off at the reception? Oh yes, it’s true. They have it all. Bull riding. Mud wrestling. Dumpster diving. Mattress surfing. You name it.

Andy and I watched about five episodes this week, and we were laughing so hard we were gasping for breath.

Head straight to your DVR. Do not pass go, do not collect one hundred dollars. You will not reget it.

Well, you might, when you see the episode where the bride and the groom feed each other bites of cake that look like horse manure, but your disgust will only last a minute and then you’ll be back to hysterical laughter.

You don’t have to take my word for it, though. Just watch this clip!

  1. we got rid of our cable last month, but this is certainly an argument to get it again.

Kind of reminds me of my cousin’s wedding which was quite eventful as well. It’s a different kind of entertainment.

  2. this also makes ME want to get cable!! I did go to a redneck wedding once complete with a huge trashpile in the backyard reception site, deep-fried turjey being cooked up, and rebel flag in the BARN where the cake was being cut. it…was…awesome! blecch!

  3. Aww, c’mon!! We rednecks ain’t all bad 🙂 My husband and I got married in an old lady’s living room…wearing flip flops 🙂 I think my husband even had flannel pajama pants on. LOL…

  4. OH MY GOSH! You forgot to mention that the show is hosted by TOM ARNOLD.

AND… you can watch some episodes ONLINE! It’s a good thing today is a snow day and I’m off work. I’ll be hooked on cmt.com ALL DAY. There goes my productivity.

    Thanks a lot, Emily!

  5. My favorite episode so far has been the couple whose wedding party all wore camo. And then the couple gave each other a gun and a lizard for wedding presents!!

  6. Thank you this show is freakin awesome! I just started watching the one where they are going to get married in the flea market.
    Ha ha-larious indeed.
