Hot Dogs and Helping Hands

This past Saturday I had the privilege, thanks to the Motherhood.com. to be a co-host at the Hebrew National “Better-than-a-Picnic ” Picnic in the Cleveland area.  It was SUCH an amazing event, I wanted to share a bit with you.

Me likey coupon for free Hebrew National product!

Hebrew National offered free hot dogs, drinks, and fruit to all the picnic attendees.  And we asked attendees to bring donations of hygiene items to make care packages for the soldiers (thanks to the USO of Northern Ohio for packing and sending them for us!) and the women and children in recovery at the Hitchcock Center for Women in Cleveland.

We also had a station where kids (and grown-ups) could make crafts for the folks we were collecting donations for.  They could make thank-you cards to go with the USO packages for our soldiers:

And decorate mini-canvases with inspirational sayings for the women and children at the Hitchcock Center:

Of course there was also lots of other picnic fun to be had!  My favorite was the mechanical bull. Which I abstained from since I’m a prego, but I REALLY wish my friend Mommy Snacks had been there to ride! It’s her specialty!

And of course there were super-yummy Hebrew National kosher all-beef HOT DOGS!  These dogs are so good even the lady getting married across the street couldn’t resist coming over to the park to get one!

It was an amazing day full of fun and giving back.  Thanks so much to Hebrew National and the Motherhood.com for making me a part of it, and for my amazing co-hosts Tesa, Tricia, and Grace, and Emily from the Motherhood.com for making it such a great event!!
