I am thrilled to report that Cribgate ’08 (thanks Lori!) has been resolved.
I just received a call from the regional vice president of Babies R Us. He had read my post last night and was very apologetic about the experience we had, and he is going to fix it.
He’s arranged for me to bring back the old crib tomorrow and exchange it for a new (and safe) one. I am so glad. Sammy will be glad, too, when he no longer has to sleep in a pack ‘n play!
The whole problem was that I was given misinformation the first (and second) time around. The recall issue can be fixed with additional hardware, so if you have one of these cribs, you can go here and have the part sent to you. No crib disassembling required!
So a big thanks to Babies R Us for rectifying the situation I faced, and a big thanks to all of our readers for your support.
I read your previous post and wondered how that who situation turned out for you. Thanks for giving us an update.
HOORAY!! That is so cool!
Yay Emily! I’m so glad! If nothing else, you have aspired the rest of us mothers not to let situations go like this without being resolved. I’m also glad to find out the BRU stepped up and fixed everything…I like that store and problems like what you went through always make me question my loyalty to a store. So this is good to know!
I am so glad that everything is straightened out with your crib now! I am also thankful you posted about this, because yesterday I checked and also have one of the recalled cribs. I filled out the form for replacement parts. But, if you hadn’t posted about it, I might have never know. So Thanks So Much!
YEeeeaahhhhhhh!
Great news! I knew corporate would come through for you 🙂 Way to hang in there, and glad it worked out!
Phew! What a relief!
So happy this was resolved for you. I just am frustrated for you b/c of the time and effort it took to make it right. I went through a similar issue with home depot and it took senior management (an email to the CEO) to make the situation right. Its great the company made it right, but it would be best for them to empower and train their employees to do the same!
The regional vice president of Babies R Us reads your blog? How cool is that. Can he send each of your readers something cool?!!!
Great news! Yippee!!!!!!!!!!!!!
VICTORY IS YOURS!!!!!
