Party in the city where the heat is on

I don’t know if you all have heard, I mean, you MAY have missed it but I think I’ve mentioned once or twice that Emily and I? Are FREAKING FABULOUS!

At least we like to think so!

This year, instead of going to the same blogging conference we usually hit, we decided to spread our awesomeness around to what we’ve heard is the BEST conference out there – the Mom 2.0 Summit. It didn’t hurt that this year’s Mom 2.0 Summit will be taking place May 3-5 in Miami, Florida. {Cue Will Smith in background}. To say we are excited about this is a major, major understatement! Let’s see, me, Emily, THE BEACH, the RITZ-CARLTON, 500 fabulous women, and amazing sponsors?? WIN!

And the parties…oh my the parties. Friday night there is an ultra-fancy “White Party” on the beach and Saturday – you are not going to belieeeeeeve this – Saturday the Mom 2.0 attendees will be attending a party at the legendary and seldom-trampled-by-the-general-public VERSACE FREAKING MANSION! That’s right, the Versace mansion on Ocean Drive! We. Are. Fancy!

Emily and I can’t wait to get to the Summit and soak up all the great marketing knowledge to be had, and meet a whole bunch of new people, too! (Just get prepared, Mom 2.0 attendees: to know us is to LOVE us. So make room in your hearts because you are going to need it!) But what we’re most excited about (well, Em is probably actually most excited about being on a plane with me. Because that’s going to be awesome for both of us. Speaking of, does anyone have an Xanax we can borrow?) is that we are thrilled, proud, and over-the-top excited to once again be partnering with our favorite brand EVER, Lands’ End, for this event. That’s right, Lands’ End is fully sponsoring our attendance and we’ll be wearing Lands’ End day and night to all the fabulous, fancy events! Because they are a brand that can take you from the boardroom to the beach to the Versace mansion, and we are excited to rock out the Lands’ End all over Mom 2.0!

As we choose our outfits, we’ll be started Pinterest boards for everything in our Mom 2.0 wardrobe. So make sure and follow Emily and me on Pinterest so you don’t miss those great outfits! (Not that we won’t post pictures of us wearing them in MIAMI!!!!!)

Gettin’ Giddy with It! (and sharing the LOVE)

Emily and I are nearly GIDDY with excitement, which I must say, is unusual for a Monday morning. But it’s because we have something really exciting to share with you. And I think you’re gonna like the way we’re gonna share it!

Ok, I’ll quit beating around the bush. We have been planning for some time to attend the BlogHer conference in July, and today we are THRILLED to announce that we have a sponsor that is sending us to the conference. That sponsor is a little old clothing company you MAY have heard of called…LANDS’ END!!

We are so, so, SO honored & excited to be representing such a great company at BlogHer! Emily and I both big puffy HEART Lands’ End. So much so, that Emily recently wore Lands’ End to the very important occasion on which she rubbed elbows with Chip and Dale:

What I LOVE most about Lands’ End is that you can get clothes for the whole family from them. I have already purchased Joshua several uniform shirts for kindergarten next year from Lands’ End, and Sophie has the cutest Lands’ End swimsuit. The quality is awesome – you cannot go wrong!

Partyin’ It Up – For a Cause!

A few weeks ago, Emily and I were contacted by the good folks at Johnson’s Body Care to ask if we’d like to throw a party – sponsored by Johnson’s – to raise money for OUR favorite cause!

Heck yes we would! Who could turn that down? Both of us immediately knew what cause we would choose to raise $$ for – the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Emily’s husband Andy has lived with type 1 diabetes since he was 16, and I’m not exaggerating when I say this disease effects just about every moment of their lives. It doesn’t define them as a family but it factors heavily into how they function – and they look forward to a day when this disease will be eradicated! Research has made great progress in the last couple of decades – a perfect example is the insulin pump Andy has worn every day for the past 8 years that has greatly improved his health and quality of life.

So, anyways, get together with some of our closest friends, have lots of great food, raise money for a great cause and raffle off some incredible prizes? Yes, please!

Johnson’s Body Care sponsored the party by giving us money for the food and starting us off with $100 for JDRF!! And they provided these gorgeous swag-bags with full-sized Johnson’s Body care products inside! And travel sizes too!

Thanks to Johnson’s support, we were able to treat our guests to some super-yummy food: a taco bar from Qdoba!

Funny story: I have never bought alcohol in my life, and at age 31 Emily ruined me by calling me on the way to the party and asking me to buy “a cheap-@$$ bottle of Tequila”. So I obliged her and I am now a marked woman. We took a picture to commemorate my descent into debauchery (don’t worry Mom I didn’t DRINK any. I’m just pretending!!)
