Rockin’ it at Kroger!

I haven’t done really well at Kroger for awhile, partly because of lack of sales and partly because of my freezer cooking adventures. But today, since we got back from vacay and had no fruit, bread, milk, or snacks, and since Kroger has a great sale going on, I dragged the kids in 92-degree weather to the big K.  And it was awesome!! I got all this for $46.85 and got back a $5 catalina for the Kraft cheese which I can spend on whatever I want the next time I go! I saved $46.23 not counting the catalina which was 49% of my bill!

$46.85 at Kroger and I got $5 back!

The Kraft cheese, Fiber One bars, Yoplait, Jell-O pudding, General Mills cereal, Del Monte Fruit, and Capri Sun were part of the “Add Up the Savings” event, where you buy 8 participating items and get $4 off.  I bought 16 items (actually 17, I like to add one to be safe!) and got $8 off. Plus I had coupons for most of those items, for instance Fiber One bars are $2.49 on sale.  I had a 50-cent off coupon from coupons.com, which Kroger doubles to $1. So that makes them $1.49.  Then, because they are part of the buy 8, get $4 off deal, that takes another 50 cents off.  So 99 cents for a box! Woot!  I had a 50 cent off coupon from coupons.com for the Cocoa Puffs which started out at $1.98 so they ended up being 48 cents a box. WOWZERS!  The Yoplait and Jell0-pudding ended up at 79 cents each. Yummers!

I think I am going to have to go back to Kroger with my $5 off catalina and get some more Add Up the Savings items!

How did you do at Kroger this week??

The Tired

Twenty weeks.  Twenty weeks, people.  Halfway there. Only two more days (two! more! days!!!!) until I find out if this kiddo is a boy or a girl.  But I’m so tired, I almost can’t even get excited. (Ok, that’s a lie. But I am. SO. tired.)

And I’m only halfway there!  How am I gonna make it through the rest of this pregnancy?  I got very little rest on vacation, thanks to the kids sleeping in the same room with us (Sophie at 3 a.m.: “What? Mommy, Daddy, and Joshua are ALL HERE?  Let’s PARTY!  Let’s jump on some air mattresses or poop our pants or something!) and a schedule of family fun.  And now I seriously feel like I got hit by a TRUCK.  Tonight a friend of mine stopped by about 8:15 and said, “Wow, you look like you are feeling really bad.”

I had a look in the mirror. I couldn’t argue.

All you lovely ladies who just loooove being pregnant, who feel so GREAT during the 2nd trimester, I don’t get you.  Oh how I wish I did.

Twenty more weeks.  Crossing my fingers for nineteen.  And maybe a little rest between now and then.

Back from Vacation; Must Shop!

I did manage to hit CVS while on vacation WOOT! – but with only dial-up internetz on my folks’ mountain, I didn’t post about it.  We got back last night so this morning the kids and I hit up Rite Aid and CVS to get some deals early in the week.  I was going through withdrawal!  Here’s what we got!

First, Rite Aid:

DSC02208

Four packs of Pilot Pens BOGO $3.79 – $7.58 (this is the ONLY kind of pen my husband will use, I was stoked to stock up!)
Schick Hydro shave gel $1.99
Garnier Shampoo/Conditioner 2 for $6
Rite Aid sleep aid $8.09 (10% off because of my wellness + discount)
Crest Sensitive Shield $2.69
Total = $26.35

Coupons:

-$5/$25 Rite Aid printable

-$1 Schick Hydro from Sunday’s Smart Source

-$.75 Crest from last week’s P&G

-$2 Two Garnier printables

-$2 Two Garnier Rite Aid video values coupons

– $8 in +UP rewards

=$7.60 + $1.42 tax = $9.02, which I paid on my Rite Aid gift card from previous rebates! WHAT UP!  And I got back 2 +UP rewards for the Garnier, will get $2 Single Check Rebate for the Pilot pens, and $2.69 for the Crest for a total of $6.69 back.  Not too shabby!

Next, I schlepped the children to CVS!

DSC02209

Schick Hydro Razor $8.97
Pull-Ups $9
Huggies Wipes $6
Total = $23.97
coupons:
-$5 Schick Hydro from this Sunday’s Smart Source
-$ 2 Huggies wipes refill CVS CRT from coupon scanner
-$11 ECBs
total= $5.97 plus $1.68 tax = $7.65
the really SAD part is I had a $2 off pull-ups coupon but I left it on my dining room table!! NOOOOOOOO!!! SO depressing. But I got back 7 ECBs, so all in all, not a terrible deal. 3 ECBs were for the Huggies/Pull-Ups an 4 were for the Schick Razor (which incidentally, is for my VERY HAIRY BROTHER!)

So, that’s what I did this week thus far!  What did you buy??
