Went back for MORE at Kroger!!

Once was not enough for me to hit the Kroger Add up the Savings event this week!  I wanted to stock up on some more cereal, Fiber One bars, and Capri Sun Roarin’ Waters.  So I went back sans kids (woot!) and did two transactions!

$1.42 at Kroger - saved 95%!

On the first one I bought 4 boxes of Fiber One bars and 4 boxes of Golden Grahams treats bars and saved 95%!  Spent $1.42 after coupons and the buy 8, get $4 off promo.  I used my $5 catalina from buying Kraft cheese earlier in the week on this order and got back a $2.50 catalina for buying the Fiber One bars!  So I got back more than I spent. 🙂
receipt

I think I might save that receipt forever!

I did one more transaction buying 16 of the buy 8, get $4 off items and the rest of the things my family needed:

$28.86 at Kroger, saved 57%!

I spent $28.86 on this after coupons and the promotion and saved 57%. Now we are ALL stocked up and next week I should only need milk and fruit from the grocery! Yippeee! Thanks Kroger!

BOGO 1/2 off plus additional 20% off at Payless!

I did some online shopping today at Payless Shoes because I needed to get both kiddos some back-to-school shoes.  They are having BOGO get one 50% off now PLUS you can get an additional 20% off with coupon code 36093!  PLUS you get 3% back if you shop thru Ebates!! So I got a pair for each kiddo for $25.20 shipped, plus I am getting 3% back! You can get FREE shipping if you choose to have your order shipped to the store, but I paid for shipping because the whole reason I was shopping online was to avoid dragging my kids to the shoe store, as I already know their sizes. 🙂 Here’s what I got.

For Joshua: These shoes by Smartfit.  (He wears uniforms so he needs pretty plain shoes.) They are exactly the same as the pair I got him last year, and they were GREAT!  I got him two pair (they had blue last year, disappointed they don’t have that this time) and between the two pair they made it all year and he wore them 5 days a week!  They are only $14.99 – definitely got my money’s worth on these! (I was surprised to see someone had posted a bad review of them on Payless’ website – I had the exact OPPOSITE experience – loved these shoes!)

I got this pair for Sophie, also my SmartFit. I thought they were so cute! They were also $14.99, so just $7.50 with the BOGO sale:

The coupon code took $4.80 off my order, and with tax and shipping ($5.95, not too bad, and again, worth me not having to drag the kids to the store) my total was $25.20. I am pumped!

What back to school bargains have you gotten?  You can win some GREAT back to school prizes from us next week, so stay tuned!

And the Ultrasound Says…

Yesterday at 9:30 I had my 20-week ultrasound.  I was sooo nervous beforehand for two reasons: 1) I know people who have gone into their ultrasound and come back out with devastating, unexpected news, and 2) I REALLY wanted to know the gender, as you all know, and part of me was very nervous that baby wouldn’t show the goods. Then Emily would have a good revengeful laugh, and we really can’t have that, now can we??

Happily, my fears on both counts were unfounded!  Our baby is healthy and measuring perfectly with my due date, and is not very modest, no NOT AT ALL!  It didn’t take the ultrasound tech more than a second to say, “IT’S A BOY!”

Leg, Leg, NOT A LEG

She took a couple measurements of his head first and then asked if we wanted to know the gender, so we didn’t have to wait long. I must say, Bobby and I were BOTH shocked! We laughed out loud. This baby had us tricked! We were both leaning heavily towards girl, and when she said BOY, and I could SEE that it was true, I realized how much I REALLY thought I was having a girl.

But I’m not!  Bobby, me, and 60% of you were wrong! We are having a beautiful, baby boy!  And I couldn’t be more thrilled or thankful to God.  We are all super-excited!  Especially big brother Joshua who was reallllly holding out for a boy (I guess Sophie’s just not cutting it for him?)

Of course, we had the big NAME discussion the day before, because I cannot stand for my babies not to be named the second after I know whether they have a pee-pee or a hoo-hoo.

But I think I’ll save his name story for another post.  After all, I want to keep you coming back to read, don’t I? {Insert diabolical laugh!}
