Wordless Wednesday – Our Summer Vacation

So I know this is supposed to be wordless and all that, but I had to say a couple things! We had the most amazing vacation… I wish we were still there. We went to Traverse City, Michigan… I had no idea such places existed in this part of the country! Take a look…

The view was amazing.
Kate loved to walk down the dock...
Jump off...
And run back.
They played in the sand for hours.
They had sand everywhere.
Sam made a baseball.
We ate lots of ice cream...
And made smores on the beach each night.
Evenings were our favorite.
Of course, we loved going out to eat for dinner!
My boys had fun.
A highlight of the trip was visiting Sleeping Bear Dunes.
Kate climbed, and climbed, and climbed.
While we were there, she practiced for her senior pictures.
So cute together... for the three minutes Sam stayed in their bed.

Ah, bliss.

Free toilet paper also makes me happy!

I hit Rite Aid again today because a) I only had one kid to drag with me and b) I just put my $31.97 Rite Aid Single Check Rebate check from June in the BANK and 3) I like free toilet paper!  Rite Aid has a great deal on Cottonelle this week and I decided we needed to stock up.  Because a picture of 4 packages of toilet paper isn’t that exciting, I present to you a picture with 4 packages of toilet paper and a cute 1st-grader on his 1st day!

Here’s what I got:
Four 12-double-roll pack of Cottonelle $6.49 each = $25.96

coupons:

-$5/$25 Rite Aid video values coupon

-$2 two Rite Aid Cottonelle Video Values coupons from July (I am so glad I saved those!)

-$2 two Rite Aid Cottonelle Video Values coupons from August (you can get these now)

-$2 four 50-cent-off Cottonelle printables from Cottonelle.com

-$7 +UP Rewards from Sunday’s trip to Rite Aid

= $7.96 + $1.12 tax = $9.08 cash

AND I will get back TWO $5 Rite Aid gift cards, one for rebate #10 and one for rebate #148 wheeeee!  So, a profit of 92 cents on that one.  And now I am *SO* stocked up on TP! Woohoo!

** just want to note: my Rite Aid will let me use one video values per item, so I could use the four $1 off coupons. MOST Rite Aids would only let you use one of those coupons at a time (one from July and one from August in my case).  I am glad my Rite Aid is different on this but I try not to go tooooo craaazzy with this.  My husband and I both have Video Values accounts so I could print one coupon from July and one from August from each of our accounts. Clear as mud?  Just so you know, I ain’t tryin’ to be shady. **

Also, reader Amy mentioned on my previous post that the Huggies +UP reward says 1 per household.  I did a Huggies and  Pull-Ups in one transaction and got +UP Rewards for both, which I was pleasantly surprised by!  Anyone else try it and have that good luck?

A Playard to Love: Bright Starts InGenuity

I was really, REALLY excited to receive my first piece of baby gear to review for my new baby boy: the InGenuity Playard from Bright Starts.  Since we weren’t planning on having another baby (whoopsie!), we had given away all our baby gear long ago, and being able to review and keep these items is a real blessing!  It was fun to get this playard out, set it up, and imagine our little boy-to-be who will soon be using it!

Here’s what I like about this playard:

  • The bassinet can be inclined if baby needs to sleep at an angle!  Totally cool!  It is really easy and takes only seconds to change from flat to incline.  They call this feature Sleep Easy Incline.

  • It has a sweet changing table.  The sides on the table are nice and high so baby can’t roll off of it, and the middle is nice and flat so you don’t feel like your kid is always rolling toward the center.  Also, you can easily rotate the changing table to the side without totally removing it when you’re not using it.
  • Extra-large storage space on the side to hold all your diapers, wipes, ointment, etc.!  I never had this with our old playard and am SO looking forward to taking advantage of this feature!
  • Easy to set up, and easy to take down.  This is important to me because I am mechanically deficient and seem to make everything harder than it should be!  It also has a really awesome, totally unique feature called One Less Step that allows you to fold the playard without removing the bassinet!  Say what??  Doesn’t that rock?  It’s the only playard out there with that feature! *Love*
  • It’s easy on the eyes. I won’t lie.  This thing is going to be sitting in my living room and I want it to be aesthetically pleasing!!
  • It comes with a very handy carrying case which makes it easy to tote when you need to travel.

You can get this bad boy at Target (where it qualifies for free shipping on select baby gear!)  or Amazon, and if you’re looking for a great, functional, pretty playard with a nice price, I’d say the BrightStarts InGenuity is the way to go!  I’m so glad to have it in our home as we prepare for the arrival of our little boy!

Like I said up there in yonder first paragraph, Bright Starts gave me this playard to review!  All opinions are my own, and this post was written solely by moi.
