He really dodged that bullet!

A few nights ago, Bobby was giving Sophie a bath and Joshua and I were indulging in a pre-bedtime snuggle on my bed.  I was laying on my side, when he said, “Mommy, can I lay on your back like I used to do when I was little?”

“Well, just for a minute,” I replied, “because Mommy can’t lay on her tummy for very long because it’s so big.”

As he scooted onto my back, Joshua commented with a tinge of disgust in his voice, “Good thing I’m not a GIRL.”

“Why’s that, honey?”

“Because I do NOT want to be PREGNANT!”

Well.  I’m kinda feeling you there, kid!

Not that I want to be a dude, but…these days I’m going to have to agree that Joshua really dodged the bullet on that one.

CVS – a $5/$15 at the coupon scanner!

I headed into CVS today to do two transactions to keep my out-of-pocket low and I got a NICE surprise at the coupon scanner!!  It printed me a $5/$15 purchase coupon!  I was thrilled because I was also walking in with zero ECBs, having blown mine from last week on some batteries.  So I wanted to make some ECBs before doing my 2nd transaction.  Here’s how everything worked out:

DSC02289

AZO itch relief $6.99
Paint brushes $2.99 (for my kiddos)
Two Colgate Total $5.98
total= $15.96

coupons:
-$5/$15 CVS from coupon scanner
-$2 AZO printable
-$1 Colgate from today’s inserts
-$.75 Colgate printable
= $7.21 + .77 cents tax = $7.98
and I got back $5.98 ECB for the toothpaste and $5 for the AZO for a $3 profit 🙂

So then I did this:
DSC02290

Charmin $9.99
Downy $5.97
Tide $10.97
Diet Dr. Pepper $4.50 (I thought it was on sale 3/$11 or I wouldn’t have bought it – oh well.)
total= $31.43

coupons:

-$5/$30 CVS email coupon

-$1 Charmin (got in the package of Duracell I bought last week!)

-$1 Tide from last P&G insert

-$5.97 Downy – free coupon I got with a sample 🙂

-$10.98 ECB

total= $7.48 + $1.86 tax = $9.34

and I got back $10 ECB for purchasing $25 in P&G products!  (actually it was $24.75, thankfully CVS was being kind on that one so I didn’t have to buy another P&G item!)

Not bad for a girl who walked into CVS with no ECBs today!  What are YOU getting at CVS this week??

Major Freebates at Rite Aid!

The whole back page of the Rite Aid ad is FREE after Single Check Rebate this week. It’s totally crazy!  I wanted to do transactions but I had my little Sophie with me, and had already done two transactions at CVS (which I will show off in another post) so I will have to go back and hope they still have some other things in stock.  I have to go back anyways because as you will see, one of my items rang up wrong and I need to get a teeny refund.  Here’s what I got!

DSC02288

Two Playtex tampons, $8

Neil Med Nasal Rinse $9.99 (free after Single Check Rebate!)

Pedia Care $6.29 (Should have rang up at $4.99, free after Single Check Rebate!)

Sucrets $2.99 (free after Single Check Rebate!)

Total = $27.27

coupons:

-$5/$25 Rite Aid printable

-$4 two $2 off Playtex printables

– $2 Neil Med Nasal rinse printable

-$2 Playtex Rite Aid Video Values printable

– $6.69 +UP Rewards

total = $7.58 + $1.56 tax = $9.14 cash and I got back 2 +UP Rewards for the Playtex, will get $4.99 SCR for the PediaCare, $9.99 for the Neil Med, and $2.99 for the Sucrets.  So that’s a profit of over $11, even more when I get back my $1.30 I was overcharged for the PediaCare!! Yay! I love FREEBATES!  Please note with the Single Check Rebate program, you have to sign up for an account here and submit your receipts online, then you can request your check be mailed to you.

I hope I can get back to Rite Aid to get some more of the Freebates!!  Shannon at For the Mommas has some great scenarios for these. What did YOU get??
