Yay Capitalism!

We have recently had two problems in our family. The first is that because of these babies pine-trees.jpg
in our front yard, we had a TON of these babies pine-cones.jpg
in our front yard. The second is that this baby joshuasillyface.jpg
was constantly (and annoyingly) longing for new trains. So, Daddy told this baby joshuasillyface.jpg
that he’d pay him 5 cents for every one of these babies pine-cones.jpg
that he picked up. Now that it’s finally WARM, yesterday this baby joshuasillyface.jpg
picked up 200 of these babies pine-cones.jpg
and earned enough money to go to Target and buy these babies

whiffbilly.jpg.

Now, that my friend is killing two birds with one baby stone!

  1. JOSHUA!

I have a proposition for you. Yes, I do feel weird propositioning a four year old, but that’s neither here nor there. Anywhoo, come visit Aunt Lori. I have two girls who do not care about their toys. You can come and pick up their toys and every one you pick up YOU CAN KEEP!

And, I do have to say that you made a very wise choice when taking your dad up on his offer. Uncle John’s dad once said he’d give him a quarter for each bag of leaves he raked. I think he earned about a nickel for that afternoon’s day of work.

Oh, and if you are in the mood to make some more money, you can come and pickup Lambchop’s contributions to the back yard… which is quite plentiful since the snow has finally melted. I’ll give you A QUARTER for each pile you conquer. I’ll supply the poopie bags and plastic gloves too!

Let me know if you’re interested and I’ll draw up a contract.

    Love, Lori

  2. Very Very Cool. That is great lesson to learn, even early on. God blesses us big time and we need to learn appreciate what we have and what we are capable of doing. Good job Mom and Dad!
There is an old saying ( they are old cause there is truth to them right?)
“God helps those that help themsleves” Nice job Joshua, you have learned a lesson that alot of us adults have yet to fully grasp.
    p.s. Can I borrow $5?
