Can I just say how much I loooove Netflix? We get it through our Wii, and it is SO awesome. I don’t know why anyone has cable anymore when you can get live streaming Netflix. Unless you want to watch sports, or news, or something DUMB like that. Heh.
Bobby and I are rediscovering some old shows on Netflix – some not too old, like say….all the past seasons of “Psych” which we love (WHEN is the next season coming to Netflix? WHEN WHEN WHEN? I cannot get enough of Shawn Spencer and Burton Guster!) and just this past week, we’ve been watching season one of our childhood favorite, the Cosby Show.
Which is HYSTERICAL. It is still as funny as it was when I was seven years old. AND I cannot believe how much of these episodes I REMEMBER! I mean, I have three children, I can barely remember my own phone number and yet, every memory of Denise making Theo that hacked-up Gordon Gartrell designer shirt and Vanessa’s hideous clarinet recital are instantly restored as soon as I hear the Cosby theme song. And RUDY! OMG, RUDY!!! Has there ever been a cuter, funnier child? I almost want to trade one of my own for the 5-year-old version of Rudy.
And remember how EXCITING it was every season to see the new theme song/opening of the show? They always did something SO great. I already can’t wait to watch season 2 just to see the opening. But I am controlling myself. The best things come to those who wait.
So, if you want a nice laugh, and TV with the effect of comfort food, dial up your Netflix and join me tonight. Put on your favorite Cosby sweater and join Bobby and me as we chill with Cliff, Clair, Denise, Theo, Vanessa, Rudy, and sometimes Sondra. Or, just for funzies, share some of your favorite Cosby memories with me in the comments!
They just don’t make ’em like they used to!
P.S. This is not a Netflix commercial. It is just freaking awesome. But seriously, Netflix, call me.
LOVE LOVE LOVE the Cosby show. And the opening dance numbers were always so fab. And I remembered exactly which episode of the shirt you are talking about. What a fun blast from the past!
Netflix is awesome! Watched all of Buffy the Vampire Slayer in order with the husband last year. Molly used to dance to the opening number every time it came on.
Love the Cosby show! There are so many episodes that I remember like yesterday but one that I can remember laughing til I cried was one with Rudy’s little friend that didn’t talk. I can’t remember his name but he was the chubby white boy. Cliff was giving horse rides on his knee and he had a bit of trouble keeping the kid upright! So funny! I think I may just go find it on you tube! LoL
Netflix can also be streamed on a lot of newer TVs, so you don’t even have to have a Wii!
I loved the sweaters!
UP
Psych is one of my fav. shows as well. The seasons usually release in July, so my guess is that we have to wait until this summer. I also heard a rumor that this will be the last season…I’m hoping that isn’t true because I ((big puffy heart)) Shawn and Gus!
I’ve been watching Psych on Netflix too… Love that show.
I completely agree with you when you wonder who could still NEED cable. I’m ready to shut it off but my husband just can’t let go of that bill!
I definitely turned this on for my kids after reading your post. They really liked it! I had no idea the Cosby’s were netflixable….I really liked the pilot episode. 🙂
Netflix is awesome and we really enjoy Psych also. This was such a cute post. Really like your blog!
They used to have the Cosby Show marathon’s on TBS I think…I would stay up til 2 in the morning watching them…Even though I knew what was going to happen I just couldn’t bring myself to turn it off!! I LOVED that show!! Still hilarious!! You are right…they just don’t make shows the same any longer!!
I always liked the episodes where they would sing. The 3 girls did one where they were coming down the stairs that I still recall. Cannot remember what they sang though.
