  1. best organizational tip…two words: label maker. i LOVE LOVE LOVE them! i would put a label on my husband if he would let me.

  2. I’m afraid I’m not terribly organized but at work I do really find that labeled paper trays really help or organize the paper clutter. I need these things to get better organized at home!

  3. OOOOHHHHH!!! I SO need those!! I am traveling for work and would look FABULOUS in my bag that I have to carry!! Oh please pick me!!

Agreeing with Gina on this one, label maker is one of the best tips ever!!

  4. I have a binder that has all my bill set up and my daily cleaning schedule and my things to do list for the week. I love my little binder and I am a dork for office supplies too.

  5. I like to label everything. That way everyone in the family knows where everything goes…not if they’d only pretend they can’t read.

  6. Em, if there’s a support group for office supply geeks, let me know. And apparently it’s genetic because my little big dude is obsessed with sticky notes and index cards.

Ok – orgainzational tip: Don’t let the paper monster win! Open your mail right by the recycling bin so you can dump the unimportant stuff right away. File the necessary stuff someplace that’s convenient to you (I use a cabinet in my kitchen for paperwork). And don’t let sentiment create a mountain of school papers/craft from your kids. Keep a few and recycle the rest.

    😉

    Hope I win!

  7. My best tip….as soon as I get something with a date, I add it to my iPhone calendar. I also pay most of my bills online….and I schedule payments to post on their due date as soon as I receive the statement. No more late fees!

  8. I’m so unorganized and LOVE coffee. Nearly everyday is my worst cubicle story because inevitably I’ll spill coffee aver my unorganized papers. Then end up having to bring them to meetings with the senior engineers and explain my clumsiness.

  9. Quite Possibly the most cute collection ever!

I use composition notebooks for all my work!… They’re great, plus a little know fack; if you maintain the page count, for example keep all 50 pages in a 50 page book, it can be considered a legal document!

    Thanks for the chance!
    Laura

  10. I love office supplies. It is kind of an illness.

I hated working in a cubicle. The guy next to me would sleep and snore. The woman across from me was threatened by me and we had an armed truce most of the time we worked together. One day I was eating my salad at my desk and I had a little container of my homemade dressing sitting next to my salad container. She says “Oh that looks good” and STICKS HER FINGER IN MY DRESSING then licks it. Who does that?

  11. Every time I get a paper in the mail or my daughter brings one home from her sitter, I find a place for it! (most of the time in my filing cabinet) I just don’t let papers lie around, that only creates large, messy piles!

  12. So many options for that worst cubicle story, but since I also just read about your heater, I’m going with this: I worked at an ad agency a few years ago, and it was located in a building that LITERALLY used to be a meat locker. It got so cold in there that the company would buy each employee a space heater. HOWEVER, if we all ran them at once, our power would short out. So we had to take turns freezing and sweating. It was lovely. 🙂

  13. I carry a “mom-notebook” where I jot down ideas and recipes and keep everything in one place that I need between work and home!

  14. My best organizational tip is not particularly original, but has worked great for my family and that is meal planning. Each Sunday morning I plan our meals for the week then later that day we do our weekly grocery shopping and I stick to the plan. It has saved me from running to the store every other day for “one more thing”.

  15. I have a huge desk-plotter type calendar hanging in our kitchen. Each family member has a different color on the calendar so I can keep track of everyone’s activities. I also have a dry erase board on one side of the calendar and a bulletin board on the other. I write a menu plan for the week on the dry erase board and tack up anything important on the bulletin board. Thanks for the giveaway. I would love to win!

  16. I try to keep everything on a calendar, so I don’t forget any important dates. I like to write things down.

  17. My best organizational tip is COLOR CODE. I color code everything of mine, so that way I know just by sight what is happening that day (work, family, school, friends, etc all have different colors). I have matching folders that coincide with the colors in my calendar so everything that goes with work, family, school, friends, etc can stay together.

  18. I try to stay organized by throwing things away that I don’t need- so that the clutter says down and it’s not really clutter since I have already “gone through” it.

  19. My best organization tip is to deal with the mail as soon as you get it out of the box, rather than dumpong it and letting it pile up.

  20. Best Organizational Tip: Need a whiteboard? Go to the hardware store and buy an 8’x4′ piece of plain, white water-proof paneling. Total cost $8-10.

  21. I do love my filing cabinet…it is not pretty but it does give me a sense of satisfaction to know that I can find everything easily.
