Cold. Again.

So remember when I bored you all with wrote about our hideous issues with getting our furnace fixed back in October? Well, things had been going along swimmingly since then – we were warm and cozy and happy.

Until last night. When it broke again. And now we are none of those things.

I thought we were cold then – ha! At last count, it was 57 degrees in our house. So again, Sammy was up half the night… freezing temperatures + new teeth coming through = very sad baby. Fun stuff.

I am also in a great mood… the exhaustion of this time of year was enough to do me in already, but added to the stress of not knowing what the crap this is going to cost us is making me not very pleasant to be around (and apparently unable to write in complete sentences). Just ask my husband, who told me I was “grumpy” at 2:30 this morning. Grumpy is an understatement.

The low tonight? 16. 16! I can hardly wait.

Being a grown up sucks.

  1. Yikes. The fear of this scenario prompted us to replace our entire heating and air system last month. The one we had was older than dirt on on it’s last leg. At least we’ll get a tax credit for replacing it with a high efficiency unit.

  2. I’m sorry your furnace broke again! It seems to happen at the coldest times. I hope you’ll be able to get it fixed soon and that it won’t cost too much!

  3. You need to have a slumber party somewhere ELSE tonight!! Our heater broke a few years ago, and it was in the middle of the coldest week of the whole stinking winter. We toughed it out for the first night, but stayed with friends the second night. And we didn’t even have a baby then – we were just big wusses ourselves!

  4. I’d definitely find out if there’s a warranty on the work you already had done. Hopefully it’s something they’ll fix again at their cost!! Otherwise, I agree with Jenny – find somewhere else to sleep!

  5. I hope the furnace is fixed soon! Maybe you should check into getting a Sun Heat electrical heater. We have one that we use in the basement, but it’s great to have one in case the furnace would kick the bucket in the middle of winter.
