We’ve all got lists of things to worry about.
If you’re neurotic like me, you’ve got lists of your lists of things to worry about.
A few years ago, I wrote about the things on my list at that particular time – one of which was changing the batteries in my home smoke alarms.
Seven months later, I wrote about how I still hadn’t changed the batteries and how I laid awake in bed nearly every night worrying about it.
Had I known about Kidde Worry-Free smoke and CO alarms, I could have at least marked that one thing off my list.
These are battery-operated alarms – batteries that last 10 years. They also have a photoelectric smoke sensor that is programmed to minimize false alarms (aka, my cooking). Additionally, they’re location-specific, so the alarms made for hallways have super-bright LED lights, and those for bedrooms have a voice warning for those who may sleep through the traditional beep.
Also? That 10-year battery thing means no chirping.
In addition to manufacturing quality, effective (and not annoying) alarms, Kidde is committed to helping keep kids safe in their homes. Here are some of their recommended links to information on how to protect your family from a fire, handling medications safely, and to educate yourself on how to teach your kids about fire safety.
As we all know, fire safety is serious business. This infographic hit home with me.
Working smoke alarms reduce the chance of dying in a home fire by half.
All the more reason to get Kidde’s Worry-Free alarms!
Now that we can mark off worrying about the smoke alarms, here’s another list for us to take on.
We’re giving away a Worry Free Smoke Alarm to one lucky winner!

No chirping…not going off when I cook…I am sold on this product! And “old people” need protection, too. LOL
There is always a need to have a smoke alarm around. I have heard great reviews on this product.
We’re moving to a new house soon and I know we’ll be replacing all of the smoke detectors as soon as we move in!

I’d love to have one.
Just moved into a house with what look like very old smoke detectors. Although it did go off when I burnt frozen garlic bread in the oven. But I’ve worried ever since if they actually would work in a real fire. Guess I need to go buy these (If I don’t win!!!) Does Target carry them? And can I get a Cartwheel coupon to help a poor girl out?
Just took the quiz…not as smart as I thought I was.
But I found a where to buy link! No Target, but CVS!! Now I can use ECB to get them cheap (er) hopefully!!
We have a new bedroom that we need to be putting a smoke detector in
I took the quiz
It seems like our smoke detectors always need new batteries in the middle of the night. Nothing like that chirping to wake everyone up!
I would love to have it
Oh man, the smoke alarm has been on my worry list lately. How did you know?
Scary statistics. This gives me a needed push to get those carbon monoxide detectors i haven’t bothered to get for our house…
I took the quiz. More scary statistics I didn’t know! Very informative, though!
The Worry Free Smoke Alarm would certainly put my mind at ease and make me feel safer in my home.
I took the Kidde Home Safety Month Quiz.
I’ve been meaning to get new smoke alarms for awhile and haven’t so this would be great!
These are so essential in every home, thanks for the chance to win.
Took the safety quiz
Wow, the facts in the post above are sobering! Safety is always important and you can never have enough reminders & helpful tips!
No chirping! Awesome!
