It’s no secret that back-to-school must-haves have changed over the years, and kids – and parents – just need access to certain things to make life easier. A fantastic home printer is definitely one of them.

We have a lot of technological gadgets in our house, but until last week, we’d been functioning without a home printer for years. It’s been a giant pain. That’s why I jumped at the chance to review (and give away!) a Canon PIXMA MG6320 Wireless Inkjet Photo All-In-One Printer.

I got it up and running two days ago, and I can already tell how much simpler it’s going to make our lives – and school hasn’t even started yet. I can only imagine the workout the printer will get in the next couple of weeks as we print pictures, school forms, homework, and more.

The first thing I did was download the Canon iEPP mobile app. In about 30 seconds I had the app downloaded and sent a picture to print straight from my phone.

From the app, I can print directly from my camera’s photo roll, or I can use my phone as a scanner and then send the document I scan to print. From anywhere. Canon also has Google Cloud Print, which means you can print directly from Gmail, Google Docs, or Chrome – from your mobile device or browser.

This is game-changing, people.

In addition to its sheer convenience, Canon makes printing fun. They have a new Facebook app that allows you to turn photos and videos into comic strips that you can then download, print, or share on Facebook.

By adding text and filters, you can get as creative as you want!

You can even make those Pinterest-y back-to-school photos that everyone’s posting. This one took me approximately 14 seconds to create and print. Finally – a project I actually have time for! (And seeing as how this was on the first day of school last year, it only took me a year to get around to doing it!)

  1. We do not have a home printer, and with one daughter in junior high and another in 4th grade, it is a huge pain to run over to my parents house all the time to print things off!! It would save us tons of time and money by having this 🙂

  2. With homeschooling, you end up printing worksheets and such a lot. Besides, we just ran out of ink and seriously…it’s almost worth throwing away our printer and buying a new one with as much as ink costs. So there’s that.

  32. I spend most of my time trying to get our old Brother inkjet to print; it’s always hit or miss and many times illegible when it does print. With all the papers my daughter has to write for school, this printer would be a blessing.
