Giveaway a Day: $25 Kroger Gift Card

This week in honor of the upcoming holidays, Emily & I are thrilled to bring you a giveaway-a-day! Woot! Today’s giveaway is a $25 to our favorite grocery store, KROGER! Kroger wants to give you the chance to win in honor of their new pet insurance program through Kroger Personal Finance.

What!? Pet Insurance you say! Maybe it sounds silly at first, but think about unexpected vet bills for your beloved pets. Most pets are considered family members, and pet owners will do whatever is needed to get them well again after an accident or health problem. (Like my husband’s family who gave their diabetic dog insulin shots every day for years!) Kroger offers accident-only pet insurance for only $9.95 per month per pet. And if you feel like your pet needs more coverage, they have lots of other policies too, from heartworm to hospitalization, and lots more.

So, if you have a beloved cat, like the cat I had growing up named Fuzzy who was totally awesome and lived to be twenty years old and had quite a few vet trips over the years, or a beloved dog like my friend’s daschund who had to have back surgery – pet insurance is something you might want to look into! If you don’t have a Kroger nearby, you can still purchase online or at most of the Kroger family of stores (Ralph’s, Fred Meyer, King Sooper’s, etc.)

Win it! Here’s how to win a $25 gift card from Kroger!

1) Leave a comment on this post telling us the name of your favorite pet.
2) Tweet about this giveaway on twitter – follow & include @krogerdeals in your tweet. Then leave a separate comment with your tweet URL.
3) Subscribe to our feed and leave a comment telling us you did or already do.

Random.org will choose the lucky winning comment # on Thursday, December 17th, so hurry and enter!

And come back tomorrow for another great giveaway!

Kroger totally gave Emily & me a $25 gift card as well. Which we really appreciate since we both do nearly all our grocery shopping there! Yippee! Thanks, Kroger!

  1. oops.. my favorite pets were peanut butter and jelly, two fish that my sister and i won at the annual Italian Festival one year. As expected but not welcomed, they were belly up floating in about a month. Go figure…..

  2. My favorite pet = a fat cat named Frisky. The irony… she isn’t frisky at all!

  3. My favorite pet is my kids cat, Buckeye. My son struggles with ADHD but Buckeye is very theraputic and helps Evan alot.

  4. I gotta really list two pets, since their names are not as good without the other. My dh gets credit for the names but we got two cats at the same time and one he named Cat, the other Bob(Bob is the girl).
Makes them Bob-Cat but I call Bob Bob-ra so she won’t get a complex :O

  5. We’re not supposed to pick favorites right? 😉
My 2 favorites are our cat Samson. He always follows my 8 yr old to bed every night. And our basset Harley. She’s got quite the personality and greets everyone with excitement.

  6. My favorite pet was Dusty, our family’s Golden Retriever, who sadly had to be put to sleep a few years ago due to a softball sized tumor he had (so sad!)

  7. I love all my pets EQUALLY… but I guess one in particular does hold the keys to my heart – my cat, Hank. He was a stray (as they all were), and we don’t know how old he is, but he’s OLD. And he has no teeth, but can still open the fridge and help himself to whatever he can find. And his purr is the best – super loud, like a pigeon… Can’t beat that kitty!

  8. my favorite pet is Hurley, my dog named for the lovable Hurley on Lost… because they have the same hair.

  9. Our dog peanut has been my all time favorite dog… she was the runt of the liter and for years had a pink nose. Being over 30lbs. she still thinks that she is a lap dog. 😀 I would love to use the Kroger card to for all of her food and treats!!

  10. My fave pet right now is Lexie – a lovely, old rott-mix… she lost a little of pups when she was little and always seems a little like she’s always in mourning of her lost babies… Her heartbreak just is so huge.

  11. Growing up I had 2 cats named Ozzie ans Harriet, who were my favorites! Now my husband and I have 2 cats named Frankie and Lucy, who I tret like my little, fuzzy babies.
