WFMW:Kaboost!

I won’t tell you what kind it is, but I will tell you that I really dislike our portable booster seat. As a matter of fact, I’ve never really met a booster seat that I like. Well thanks to the good folks at Target, there is now a great alternative! It’s called “Kaboost”! (Isn’t that fun to say? Say it out loud a couple times. It makes me smile.) Kaboost is a portable chair booster that fits on the bottom of almost any chair and makes the chair taller. Geeenius! It’s really light-weight, and it took less than a minute to install. It adjusts to two different heights, (the same heights as standard booster seats do) and has TONS of traction on the bottom so it won’t slip. As a matter of fact, my hubby commented on the traction several times. It made a real impression on him! Also, it stays attached if you pick the chair up and move it. This thing is SO convenient!! And of course, it detaches and folds up easily and compactly so it is not a hassle to take with you when you are going over to a friend’s for dinner. If you are having a hard time visualizing , here are some pics of Joshua using a chair in our dining room fitted with our Kaboost. I will note that the Kaboost is for kids ages 2 and up – Sophie isn’t quite old enough to sit in a chair and not be strapped into it (besides – she can’t be trusted!)

Here’s Joshua without the Kaboost, sitting at our dining room table:

And here he is inthe chair with the Kaboost – look how much taller he is! (He’s checking to see if his peanut butter toast has a heartbeat.)

Isn’t that COOL? I love it SO MUCH! It retails at Target for $29.99 and I predict it is going to be the Next Big Thing on everyone’s baby registry. It also comes in three colors – chocolate, like mine, green, and natural. You can check those out here. It’s also part of Target’s new Parent Inventors Line – one of many cool products invented by moms & dads. Em & I will be reviewing some of the other products from this line within the next couple of weeks. But I can honestly say, I wish I’d thought of this one! The Kaboost rocks, and it works for me! WFMW: the Coupon Binder

You may recall a couple of months ago that I shared with you how I was organizing my coupons in a coupon box. Weeeelll, due to my growing obsession, I quickly outgrew that method! Thanks to the encouragement of my friend Krista, I am now the nerdy proud owner of a coupon binder. And I am lovin’ it! The binder is really working well for me. Here’s how you too can organize your coupon binder if when you sink to that level of coupon nerdiness. (Click on the pictures for a larger view.)

Start with a zip-up binder:

Get some baseball card inserts and put your categorized coupons in them:

Get some sticky tabs and write your category names on them and stick them to the edge of the baseball card inserts:

Get some 4×6 picture inserts for larger coupons and rebate forms:

Ta-da! You have your coupons clearly organized and they’re easy to carry with you! SO, that’s what’s working for me these days…I can even take all my coupons when I have the kids with me! To see what works for everyone else, check out Works For Me Wednesday at Rocks in My Dryer.

WFMW: Moby Wrap

One of the things on my must-have baby products list this time around was a sling. The options that are available boggled my mind, so I turned to our readers for help. But I was still confused! So I did some more searching and ran across an online vendor who just happens to live in the next town over from me, and I emailed her for help. Jennifer at Firefly Baby came to my rescue, and invited me over to her house to try slings on. She was super nice and very helpful, so if you need a sling, I highly recommend Firefly Baby!

I had pretty much decided on a ring sling before going to Jennifer’s house… but when I tried on a Moby Wrap, I knew it was the one for me!

It seemed a little complicated at first, but with a little practice, it’s easy to put on, and easy to get Sam into. I love how secure and snug he feels when he’s in it. In the last two weeks, I’ve worn him in it to the bookstore, Babies R Us, Kate’s t-ball practice, on walks around the neighborhood, and even to a concert! He really likes being in it and it is great to be able to have my hands free sometimes, because this baby likes to be held!

Speaking of Sam, I hear him giving his dad trouble upstairs… gotta run! The Moby Wrap works for me, and for other WFMW tips, head over to Rocks in my Dryer.
