WFMW: Moo Business Cards

moocards.jpg

A few months ago, at the Sony Mommy Blogger Event, I was the only LEE-OOOSER without business cards. What a DORK! Em and I have been meaning to get some for a long time but never got around to it. Then, Christina, who was at the event, showed me her very cool business minicards from Moo.com. I came home and ordered Emily and me some immediately! They are so cute, hip, and memorable and you can buy these great little holders for them that go on your key ring! That way, you’ve always got your cards, whether you are battling your way through IKEA, waiting in line with a bunch of vicious bargain-hunting moms at a consignment sale, or just making your bi- tri- weekly run to CVS. Here is the package Em and I got, it comes with approximately 15 different designs. The pre-made designs are awesome, but you can also use your own photos if you want to! How cool is that? I’ve really enjoyed my Moo cards and I think they really do work for me! So go check ’em out! And for other great Works for me Wednesday ideas, check out Rocks in My Dryer.

WFMW: Slow Cooker Garlic Mashed Potatoes

In this edition of Works for Me Wednesday, we are supposed to write about our best recipes that are made with five ingredients or less! Most of my meals are pretty simple but narrowing them down to one with only five ingredients was difficult! Then I remembered my favorite special treat – garlic mashed potatoes made in the crock pot. The ingredients are: potatoes (I like mine with the peel), butter, fresh garlic, milk, and water. I generally “eyeball” it, but if you have about two pounds of potatoes, you dice them, then put them in the crock pot with a clove of pressed garlic, 1/4 cup water, and 1/4 cup butter. Cook them on low for about 7 hours or high for four hours, then beat them with an electric mixer and add the milk gradually (probably between 1/4 and 1/2 a cup is good) until you get the consistency the way you like it! If you want to be really bad and decadent, you can use sour cream instead of milk!

These are yummy and SO easy, and they really work for me! For more great recipes, check out Rocks in My Dryer.

WFMW: Dottie’s Weight Loss Zone

As I mentioned a few weeks ago, I am doing Weight Watchers as an attempt to lose the rest of my baby weight. And then some. But anyway.

I haven’t officially joined WW yet. While I think that the best way to do this program is to go to the weekly meetings, they don’t fit into everyone’s time or money budget.

That’s where Dottie’s Weight Loss Zone comes in. This website has everything!! Dottie has calculated the points values for every food imaginable, and she has lists and lists of restaurant point values as well. It’s pretty awesome.

The best part of this site, though, is the downloadable WW points tracker. Now I can keep track of everything I eat and calculate points right on my Palm Pilot. The food and restaurant lists are available for download as well, so I have everything i need to do WW while on the go. For FREE. That Works for Me.
