Fun With Competitor’s Coupons!

Since I found out that my local CVSes take competitor’s coupons, I had a bit of a field day, or field week this week! I went to CVS WAY too many times, but here are just a couple of my transactions. Twice the cashiers who rang me up didn’t even KNOW that they took competitor’s coupons, depsite a sign at the register that said so. Uhh…so I guess I gave them an education!

Now on to Kroger – the grocery deals haven’t been too hot around here lately, and I made a sort-of big trip to Meijer last week, that wasn’t really worth mentioning. But finally Kroger had some good deals this week! I got all this:
1159.jpg
For $11.59!! The total before coupons and promotions was $29.59! So I saved $18! The cereal was 4/$10 and if you bought 4 you got an additional $4 off your order. Of course I had four of the $2 coupons for the Chocolate Honey Bunches of Oats, so I ended up getting paid $2 to buy these! The Nestle Quik chocolate milk singles were free with doubled coupons, too. Yay!

Well that is all I got folks! To see more, head over to the “Cents”ible Sawyer for CVS Superstars and to our guru Money Saving Mom for Super Savings Saturday!

Shh! I’m Having a Fling With Walgreens!

CVS, I love you. I really, really, do. Which is why it hurts me to admit that this week, I totally cheated on you multiple times with Walgreens. And it was awesome!!

But I know Walgreens is very fickle and really can’t be trusted…so I promise to stay faithful to you (except for the two times a year when they have a really awesome sale like this one.)

Now that we have that cleared up, here’s what I did at Walgreens this week!

They were having this fabulous deal where if you bought 9 P&G items, you got $20 in Register Rewards. Crest Pro-Health toothpaste counted as part of this deal and cost $2.50 a pop. There was a coupon for $3 off of two Crest Pro-Health in the Walgreens Easy Saver catalog, and I had several Crest coupons – some for 50 cents, some for $1 off, and one for a whopping $3 off one tube of toothpase, which Walgreens took for the full amount even though they were on sale for $2.50!! The end result was all this toothpaste:

for $2.25!!!! (Which I paid for with my Walgreens gift card from previous rebates of COURSE.) And I got back $20 in Register Rewards (two $10 ones printed out)!!! I then took one of my $10 RR’s and bought these rebate items:

All of these were free after rebate, and I used a $1 off coupon for the toothbrush. I used my $10 RR and paid $1.49 on my gift card, and I’ll be getting back over $12 in rebates. Oot Oot! I’ll be using my other $10 RR to get some more REBATE ITEMS! Yay!

True confession time: I did a different version of the P&G deal three times!! I donated a LOT of toothpaste to a local shelter this week! And I now have a boatload of Cascade and boatload of Register Rewards. 🙂

But of course I did hit CVS a couple of times this week for necessities such as milk and chocolate syrup. And my BFF Luanne needed some nails, and I needed to get some more free after ECB monthly deals…soooo…

nails.jpg

Colgate Deep Clean toothbrush $3.99
Kiss nails $5.99
Nail glue $1.99
Two Orapik travel piks $2.79 each
Total: $17.55
I used my $3/$15 CVS coupon and $13.96 in ECBs, paid 64 cents cash and got back $14.57 in ECBs! $5 for the Kiss nails & glue, $5.58 for the Orapik, and $3.99 for the toothbrush. Ohh, CVS! I do love you so! You’re always so good to me!!

CVS – A Week of Sharing the LURVE!

This was a very fun CVS week for me!! For starters, on Sunday my friend Lori came to town and we hit CVS together. Where Lori lives, the nearest CVS is 20 minutes away. So here she felt like she was in CVS heaven since there are like 7 CVSes within 10 minutes of me (several 5 minutes or less! Woot!) We went to two CVSes, and Lori got to meet my favorite cashier, and we had a great time. PLUS, she got over $100 in merchandise for about $27 out of pocket, and got $36.34 in ECBs for next time!! So she got PAID over $10 to buy all that stuff!! Here’s a pic of her haul:

And here’s us being dorks (what we do best)!

The next thing that was fun for me this week was I got to share the CVS LURVE with my folks. I love giving stuff to my friends & family members, which I never would have been able to do before CVSing and coupons came into my life. Well my dad is having surgery next week and needed some post-op supplies. So my mom and I and the kids hit CVS and got all the stuff dad needs – over $65 worth – for about $2 out-of-pocket. Woohoo!

The third things that was fun for me this week was that the May monthly ECB deals started on Thursday!! I hit ’em hard the first day out and here is one of my transactions:

maydeals.jpg

Milk $3.29
2 Aquafresh $2.99 each
1 Tums Quikpak $4.69
3 CVS allergy $3.79 each
Total = $25.33 before tax
Coupons used:
CVS $4/20
$2/$10 CVS Brand
Two $1 off Aquafresh
$1 off Tums
Spent $15.98 in ECBs and paid 35 cents cash and got back $22.04 in ECBs!! CVS, I LUUURVE YOU!

Other things I got at CVS this week that we needed and didn’t have to pay real money for: Children’s Claritin and allergy eyedrops for Joshua!! YAY!

That’s it for me this week! For more awesome savings, check out Super Savings Saturday at Money Saving Mom. And for more crazy addicted CVSers, check out CVS Superstars at the “Cents”ible Sawyer!
