A Friend In Deed. And in Coupon.

Last night I made a much-needed grocery run to Kroger.  I did pretty well, nothing phenomenal, but I saved about 50% which I was pleased with!  On the way there I made a couple drugstore stops.  I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this before but I do all the drugstore shopping for my BFF Luanne.   I have sole possession of her CVS Extra Care card and ECBs.  Lest you think I am a total saint, she does give me free Mary Kay in return, as she is my Consultant, or Dealer as I like to call her. 🙂  Anyhoo, so I am telling you this to tell you that I am not one of those creepy coupon people who has 700 Extra Care accounts.  I shop for my household and for Luanne’s on separate cards and that’s it!  She gives me cash when I need it, and also Mary Kay product. So here’s what I got for HER last night!

As I mentioned in my previous post, there is a Schick/Playtex deal going on this week, buy $20 get 10 ECB. Since Luanne and her girls love Schick Intuition razors and her hubs loves the Quattro, I did the Schick products deal for them.

Schick Quattro Titanium razor $9.99

Schick Intuition razor $9.99

Skintimate shave gel $2.99

CVS heat patches (these were for me  – for my aching back!) Clearance $1.65

OB tampons clearance $1.95 (for the Hitchcock Center in Cleveland)

total= $26.57

coupons:

$4 off Schick Quattro from this past Sunday’s inserts

$2 off Schick Intution from this past Sunday’s inserts

$1 off OB from older insert

$.75 off Skintimate from this past Sunday’s inserts

total = $18.82.  I paid with Luanne’s 13 ECB she had and paid $5.82 + tax for a total of $7.65 and got back 10 ECB for the Schick.

Don’t you wish I was YOUR BFF? 🙂

Next, I went to Rite Aid to fight the ETERNAL BATTLE my family has with keeping enough batteries around. Even though I JUST bought 3 packs a couple weeks ago at Rite Aid they are magically gone. SO.

DSC02150

5 packs of Duracell AA batteries $4.99 each = $24.95
Crest Sensitive Shield toothpaste $2.99 (this I get for Luanne’s MOTHER. See, I told you I am a good friend!)
Veet Clearance $4.24
Total =$32.18

coupons: $5/$25 Rite Aid video values coupon (new ones for July are out!)

-$3 Veet Rite Aid in-ad coupon

-$3 Veet Rite Aid video values coupon (from last month)

-$.50 Crest coupon from recent P&G insert

-$7 in +UP rewards from last visit

total =$13.86, with tax I paid $15.34 and I will get back$12.99 in Single Check Rebates, $10 for the Duracell and $2.99 for the toothpaste.  So, bringing my out-of-pocket to 87 cents + tax.

AND NOW WE HAVE BATTERIES!! Yaaaay!

Free Diapers at CVS!

Well I stopped into CVS today to pick up a prescription and some heat wraps for my BACK which I hurt on Friday.  I had read on a blog last week that there was a particular kind of Pampers on clearance, but I hadn’t seen them at my regular store yesterday. Today though, I found them (I get my prescriptions at a different CVS than the one I usually shop at, because it has a drive-thru! Today I had to go in though.)

ANYWAYS!  They also had some travel packs of baby wipes on clearance for 49 cents, and since that is one of the items I am collecting for the USO care packages, I picked up a few of those too.
free diapers and 49 cent travel wipes

Pampers Swaddlers Sensitive NEWBORN clearance $2.99
Four travel packs of wipes $1.96
total = $4.95
used $2 off Pampers Swaddlers coupon from recent Red Plum insert
paid $2.95 + tax and got back 1 ECB for the diapers! Pampers Jumbo packs are on ECB this week and even this clearance pack gave the ECB! So, the diapers were free after coupon and ECB. 🙂

Not bad for a transaction I wasn’t planning!

I am pretty sure the Swaddlers Sensitive in newborn are the only clearanced size. I price checked the size 1’s and they rang up regular price.

I swear I have a reason for buying these

$1.65 at CVS

So, I pulled a muscle in my back on Friday and have spent almost the whoooole weekend in bed. About 5:30 tonight I decided I was feeling well enough to go to CVS.  Why?? I had a mission in mind!  You will find out WHY a pregnant woman would buy 4 boxes of tampons in Monday’s post.  I know you are just dying to know, so please check back for that. 🙂

The deal was, buy $20 of Schick or Playtex  products and get back 10 ECB.  This included razors, shave gel, and tampons but I was all about the tampons as you can see.  So here’s how it worked out.

4 boxes Playtex Sport $5.29 each =$21.16

used 4 $1/$1 peelie coupons on the boxes

total = $17.16

I paid with 17 ECB and paid 16 cents + $1.49 tax, so $1.65 total, and I got back 11 ECB, 10 for the tampons and one for using my CVS green bag tag the 4th time (you can 1 ECB every 4th time you use it.)

Not bad for some brand-name tampons that will go to a good cause (which again, you will find out about tomorrow!)
