Totally Rocked out at Meijer!

This morning I dropped Sophie off at preschool and headed straight for Meijer to get some sweet deals!  Without a kid in tow!  I have three months to do this before the baby comes and I am going to enjoy every second.  This morning, I enjoyed it A LOT.  Here’s what I got!

$31.85 at Meijer and I got SIXTEEN bucks back!

10 blocks of Kraft cheese 3/$5

6 crescent rolls

2 boxes Frosted Mini-Wheats $2.50 each

4 bottles of Juicy Juice $2 each

6 boxes of Ziploc bags (5 were $1.89, one was $2.79)

6 Green Giant boxed veggies 99 cents each

My total before coupons and promotions was $62.85

my total after coupons and promotions was $31.85…and I got SIXTEEN DOLLARS in Catalinas back to use on my next order!!!! So I then bought all the meat, fresh fruit, veggies, and other items my family needed for the week and used the $16 in catalinas to pay for it, and a few coupons, and spent $23.65 for the rest of our week’s groceries.  Here’s how I got this great deal!

Promos: buy 2 Kellogg’s cereals and 2 Juicy Juice, get $3 off instantly at checkout

I bought 2 cereals and 4 Juicy Juice so I could use the $2/4 Juicy Juice printable coupon AND the $2/4 Juicy Juice Meijer Mealbox coupon.

So $5 for two cereals plus $8 for two juices – $13. Minus $4 in coupons and $3 off instantly at checkout = $6 for all. 🙂

The Green Giant Veggies were 99 cents & you got a $2 off catalina back for buying 3.  There were 60 cents off three coupons at Coupons.com. and in this Sunday’s insert that double to $1.

So six veggies = $5.94 minus $2 in coupons = $3.94 and get back two $2 Catalinas – $.06 profit.

The Kraft cheese was $1.67 and you got back a $5 catalina for buying 10.  Plus there is a $5/5 coupon you can print and use two of!  So 10 BLOCK cheeses =$16.70 minus $10 in coupons = $6.70 minus $5 catalina = $1.70 for all!  I think the block cheese is the only type that works for this, but I’m not positive.

The crescent rolls were 4/$6 – buy 4, get $1 off instantly at checkout.  But if you bought 6, you also got a $3 off catalina!  And there are 50 cents off two coupons on Coupons.com. that double to $1!  (Though Meijer only doubles the first two.)  So it was $9 for 6, minus $1 instantly, minus $2.50 in coupons, minus $3 catalina = $2.50 for 6 packages of Crescent rolls!

There are also Catalina deals on the Ziploc bags – buy 4, get $2 back – and there were coupons in this Sunday’s inserts. And there is a Meijer mealbox coupon you can print for that one also!

To be honest I got so many catalinas I was confused about what was for what!

Thanks to Mommy Snacks and Happy Homemaker Cindy for posting about these deals!

Have fun shopping! I hope you get some awesome deals at Meijer this week!

Holy Profit at Rite Aid, Batman! Er, sort of.

Ok, so I was super-jazzed after looking at the Rite Aid ad and reading some other great coupon blogs & seeing this week’s deals!  We went to church last night so this morning I was at Rite Aid when it opened at 9.  Not because I have totally lost my mind, but because I have INSOMNIA and I’d been up since 5:15 & had already gotten my shopping plan together!  Despite my best planning, all did not totally go as planned, as I’ll explain. Here’s what I got:

DSC02240

Two Tylenol Precise pain patches $10

Two Reach Total Care toothbrushes, $2.99 each = $5.98

Listerine PocketPaks $2.99

Listerine Total Care $4.99 ($4.49 for me with 10% wellness + discount)

Johnson’s baby shampoo $3.99

Johnson’s baby lotion $3.99

Playtex Gentle Glide tampons $4 (you’re welcome, Sarah!)

total = $35.44

Coupons:

-$5/2 Tylenol Precise from today’s inserts

-$2.99 B1G1 Free Reach from insert awhile back

-$1 Any Reach toothbrush printable

-$2 +UP Rewards from last week

Total = $9.95 + $1.71 in tax. I paid $11.66 cash and got back 13 +UP Rewards!! ( 2 each for the Johnson’s baby, 2 each for the Reach, 2 for the Pocket Paks, 3 for the Playtex). Pretty good, right??  Well, normally I would be thrilled with this transaction BUT there was an extra +UP Reward  – $10 for buying $30 of select Johnson & Johnson products – that didn’t print!!  I didn’t realize it wasn’t there til I was on my way home, and I didn’t want to drive back and annoy the cashier and manager, so I emailed customer service when I got home and I am waiting to hear back!  I know I bought the right items and spent enough, so I am hoping they will get me my extra $10 somehow!

Hopefully if it all works out I will come away with $11.34 profit on this one!  Plus, the Listerine & Pocket Paks, and toothbrushes all count toward the Oral Care rebate I was working on – so that’s more profit as well!

Did anyone else try the Johnson & Johnson deal and get the $10 +UP Reward??  I hope it worked for you.  I’ll let you know how it turns out.  And hey, Rite Aid! I want my $10!  😉

Old Navy & Carter’s Store shoppin’!

So, my belly is starting to get GINORMOUS.  And also, I have very little to wear!! This is kind of a problem.  Some good friends have loaned me some of their maternity clothes, but sadly for me, most of them started out smaller than I am, at least in the upper half.  I am about out of tops to wear!   I’ve been spending most of the summer in the same three Old Navy tank tops, which are serving me quite well.  Happily, when the folks at Old Navy heard of my plight, they generously sent me a $50 gift card so I could pick up a few more things from their maternity line.  While I was there,  picked up a few back-to-school items for Sophie, too!  Here’s what I got:

DSC02233

  • Rainbow tee $7.99
  • Long-sleeved tees 2 for $20!! Put me in these all fall and I will be so happy!
  • Cute little denim skirt $16.49 (I had one of these when I was prego with Sophie, I gave it away – I loved it- had to have another!)

Then for the Soph, I got three short-sleeve pocket tees – these were marked down to $1.97!  And this cute little dress was just $7.99.  What a deal!  I had a $5 off $50 Old Navy coupon from Facebook so my total for all this goodness was only $56.85 including tax!  I can’t wait to wear my cute new clothes and see Sophie in hers!

Today I also did some impulse shopping to get Sophie a few more easy outfits for preschool.  I was walking by the Carter’s store and they had a sign in the window that said the whole store was an extra 20% off!  You know I love Carter’s! I couldn’t resist!  All the things I got Sophie were 50% off PLUS the extra 20%  I got her 4 pairs of pants and 3 shirts for $36, I was thrilled!

Carter's clothes for Sophie

So, that was my shopping excitement for the week! What was yours?
