The JOY of Coupons at Rite Aid

DSC02305

Today’s transaction at Rite Aid was simple and fun for me. AND it worked out better than I thought it might. AND I made a profit!  Woot!  But I had to deviate from my original plan.  See, Rite Aid has Soy Joy bars on sale this week 10 for $7. Sophie, my picky eater, for some reason LOVES Soy Joys so I was going to get 20. BUT they only had ONE flavor at my Rite Aid! Seriously??  I wasn’t going to get 20 of one flavor.  So I am going to try another Rite Aid later in the week.  I did, however buy 10.  This brought my total down to less than I was planning on, so I didn’t use my $5/$25 printable coupon, but I’ll save it for another day.  I also wanted to get Swiffer Wet Jet refills for the teachers at my son’s school. (You know, for the Swiffers Maria and I got during the Swiffer Heist!)  I have committed to trying to get a couple every time I find a good sale on them, and this week Rite Aid has then for $3.99 with a $1 +UP reward/  Here’s how it worked out:

10 Soy Joy bars $7.00 (only 7 are pictured because Sophie ate THREE in the car while we were running errands after our Rite Aid trip.  Maybe I should have bought 20 of the same flavor after all!!)

Three Swiffer Wet Jet refills $3.99 each = $11.97

Total= $18.97

coupons used:

-$2 Two $1/3 Soy Joy printables (from all you.com)

-$1 Soy Joy Rite Aid Video Values printable

-$1.50 three 50 cents off Swiffer refills from last month’s P&G (expires TODAY)

-$13 +UP Rewards from previous shopping trips : )

total = 47 cents. WHICH I put on a Rite Aid gift card from the Kimberly-Clark rebate I got for buying Huggies. 🙂 So my out-of-pocket was ZERO and I got back three +UP rewards for buying the Swiffer refills. 🙂

I’m a happy girl!!  And the Swiffer refills are a tax write-off since I am donating them to my son’s school.

Mega Swagbucks Day & my tips for WINNING!

SO, it’s Friday – which means your chances of winning big bucks on Swagbucks goes UP UP UP if you search today!  You know I love Swagbucks – I earn bucks for searching the internet (I use Swagbucks the way I used to use Google) and then I redeem those bucks for PRIZES.  My favorite prize is $5 Amazon gift cards.  Recently I’ve had some great luck winning, at least twice a day, and here’s my big secret tip:

Use Swagbucks to search for EVERYTHING.  Not just things you’re curious about, but use it to search for websites you already know you want to go to.  Like, Mommin’ It Up for example! I enter the names of my favorite couponing sites in my Swagbucks toolbar or webpage every time I want to go there, because the more you search, the more you win!  Sure, it’s one extra step, but it’s a very tiny and very REWARDING step.  I have found that doing this has increased my odds of winning by a ton!

It’s so easy!! Get on it and getcha some Swagbucks!

Candy Deal at Meijer!

DSC02304

Today the kids and I RAN (quite literally, we had a very short amount of time) to Meijer because I had not quite gotten all the Halloween candy we needed for trick-or-treat at Emily’s house tomorrow night. AND we were out of chicken nuggets which means she was in immediate danger of starving to death. SO! Off to the store we went. I did two transactions to minimize my out-of-pocket.

Transaction #1Z:

4 bags of Nestle fun size candy $2 each – $8

-two $1/2 Nestle printables

-two 50 cents off two Nestle Meijer Mealbox printables

=$5 cash, and I got back catalina for $3 off my next order!! WOOT!

So then I got Transaction #2:

Two bags of Tyson chicken nuggets $7.98

coupons:

Two 55 cents off any Tyson bagged chicken from recent insert (both doubled to $1, so -$2)

-$3 catalina from first transaction

=$2.98!

So I got out of there w/ 4 Halloween candy bags and 2 bags of chicken nuggets for $7.98. YAY!  If you are a Halloween candy slacker like me, run out and getcha some!  This is a great deal!
