Oh, the things I will buy

Sometimes I buy stuff at CVS just to make a couple bucks.  Which is why I bought 4 boxes of Gas-X prevention last week (which I didn’t have time to post about).  I swa-ear I bought it because I made $5 on it, not because I have a raging gas problem.  I totally plan on putting this in my hairy brother’s stocking along with his lady deodorant. And the razor cartridges pictured below. 🙂  Today’s candidate for Weird Free Product was the AZO itch relief wipes.  Hey, you never know, I am about to give birth – these might come in handy! ANYHOO! Here’s what I got:

DSC06043

Two AZO wipes $6.99 each = $13.98
Schick Hydro cartridges (for aforementioned hairy brother) $12.49
Playtex Gentle Glide $8.29
$1 donation to St. Jude
total = $35.76

Coupons:

-$5/$30 CVS email coupon

-$2 Schick razor or cartridge coupon from this week’s SmartSource insert

-$2 Playtex Gentle Glide printable coupon from RedPlum.com

-$4 two $2 off printable AZO coupons

-$22.58 in ECBs from the last couple weeks’ transactions

= 18 cents +$2.10 tax = $2.28 and I got back 20 ECB!  10 for the Playtex/Schick deal and 10 for the AZO (5 each).

Wootie hootie!!

Giggling with Glee over Rite Aid deals

Yes, I know I am a nerd.  But I was practically skipping when I left Rite Aid today.  If an 8-months-pregnant woman could skip, I would’ve!  I got some great deals and started my earnings toward the Rite Aid Gift of Savings program!  From now through December 25th, you can earn Rite Aid gift cards just by shopping!

  • Spend $25-50, get $5 back
  • Spend $51-100, get $10 back
  • Spend over $100, get $20 back

To get your gift cards, just enter your receipts on the Single Check Rebate website just like you do for your SCRs regularly.  I love this program!! It was great last year and I plan to rock it again this year.  So here’s what I got today to get started.

DSC06005

5 Pepsi product 2 Liters $1.25 each = $6.25 (oh my gosh you guys the Lime Crush is SO GOOD I cannot stop drinking it!)

2 Fustion ProGlide razors $9 each = $18

4 Soy Joys $1.25 each = $5

total = $29.25

Coupons:

-$5/$25 Rite Aid printable

-$1.25 buy 4 Pepsi 2 Liters get a free Sierra Mist Rite Aid in-ad coupon

-$1/3 Soy Joy printable

-$8 two $4 off Fusion coupons from today’s P&G

-$9 +UP Rewards from my Thanksgiving shopping spree 🙂

total = $5 + tax = $6.48

I got back $10 +UP rewards, 5 each for the Fusion Razors!! AND I’ve already earned a $5 gift card in the Gift of Savings program, with $29.25 spent before coupons so far. **UPDATE** apparently this year Rite Aid is deducting your use of coupons and +UP Rewards from your total spent.  So I have NOT yet earned a $5 gift card. BOOOOOO!!! This is not how they did it last year!  Of course the +UP Reward program is new, but we should still get credit for any coupons the manufacturer reimburses Rite Aid for, in my HUMBLE opinion!!**

Of course I hope to get all the way to $100 before coupons and get a $20 gift card with minimal out-of-pocket.  We’ll see how little I can spend to get it!! (Who knows how this will turn out now??)

I heart Rite Aid so bad!!

Double-Dipping at CVS

This weekend I double-dipped at CVS.  What, pray tell, is “double-dipping”?  Well, you see, most CVS stores in our area start their Sunday sales on Saturday.  And since I had some free time this afternoon, and I wanted to get a couple more of this current week’s 3-day sale freebies, I shopped CVS Saturday afternoon to get this week’s and next week’s deals at the same time!  Since Crystal at the Thrifty Mama had posted next week’s deals on Saturday, I was able to already know what I wanted to get. 🙂  So, here’s what I got!

CVS $2.48 got back $9.50

Gillette deodorant $4 (current week, 3-day sale freebie)

Herbal Essences conditioner $3.99 (current week, 3-day sale freebie – to match the shampoo I bought on Thanksgiving!)

Reese’s big cup 79 cents (current week, 3-day sale freebie)

Twix King Size $1.59 (current week, 3-day sale freebie)

Two Suave deodorant 89 cents (“next week” sale) = $1.78 (for my hairy brother.)

Remote control transforming car $4.99 (“next week” sale) – (Joshua has been DYING for this, circling it in the CVS toy catalog!  I figured for 4.99 I could make all his dreams come true.  Especially when paying with ECB.)

Donated $1 to St. Jude

total = $18.14

coupons:

-$2 Gillette from 10/31 P&G

– 50 cents Herbal Essences from recent Red Plum

-$1 two 50 cents off Suave from recent Red Plum

-$12.97 in ECBs from my Thanksgiving haul

= $1.67 = tax = $2.48

I got back 4 ECB for the Gillette, 3.99 for the Herbal Essences, 1.59 for the Twix, and .79 for the Reese’s for a total of 10.37 ECBs!  Wootie hootie!

I don’t know if I’ll stop back by CVS this week or not – we’ll see if any hot deals or printable coupons are released!
