Lemon-y Fresh

I’m guessing this look familiar to all of you:

I remember classic Pledge in the yellow can from my childhood, and I use it in my house now.

Well, I should say, I use it on the rare occasion that I dust. Which, unfortunately, is not all that often. But when I do, I just love the smell – it makes everything so fresh and clean.

When I was asked to try out Pledge, the info I received said it could be used on wood and cabinets (of course), but also on stainless steel, granite/marble and leather as well.

I will admit – when I saw the Pledge-shaped box come in the mail, I expected to pull out a brand new probably not improved super duper all purpose hybrid version of Pledge. I was surprised to find that Pledge is the same as it’s always been… it was my own misconception (Pledge = wood) that kept me from using it on the other surfaces of my house.

So let’s review – Pledge says it can be used on wood/cabinets, stainless steel and granite. Coincidentally, I have all three of those surfaces right in my own kitchen.

I tried it out (and really, it felt weird spraying Pledge on my stove and counter tops!), and I was immediately impressed. The Pledge took off the smudges on my cabinets that were left from the installation (I was going to get around to it anyway, ahem), took the fingerprints off the stainless steel range (and the oven door) and made my granite counter tops gleam. (It also cleaned my old white refrigerator doors, which was great because I’m hoping that if the doors are shiny and pretty no one will notice the weird brown substance that’s recently started leaking from it.)

Was that an over-share?

Anyway… Three surfaces – one can… a name (and a scent) you can trust. Also? It costs less than $5. I looked it up. That is hard to beat.

Gotta Have My Crocs! (For fall!)

I love Crocs, so so much.  You know that if you’ve read this blog for awhile.  So when the nice folks at Crocs ask me if I wanna review some I am always like “Hecks yes I do!”  And one thing I love about them, is they keep giving me reasons to love them more!  Here’s my most recent reason:

The Wrapped Wedge (cue angels singing in background)!

I got this sassy purple and brown to review, but if you like tamer colors, they have them.  (I bought myself a purple shirt JUST to go with these, I love the color so much!) Girls, you will LOVE this shoe!  A little heel, a gorgeous suede-nubuck fabric, and that same Crocs comfort you expect.  Also – the insides of this shoe are fabric, so they breathe!  Perfect for fall and winter!  I love this shoe, it is SO cute and comfy.  I also have the flat version, the Wrapped Mary Jane and I have not taken them off since the weather started to get fall-ish. I lurve them!

The awesome peeps at Crocs also sent me the new Marnie flat to review.  These are just the thing to wear with skinny jeans or a skirt…or anything else!  I got these in black and wore them with my denim skirt to our girls’ night at Chinattis the other night.  They are the perfect little black flat and again, super comfortable.

Now you know it would be unlike me to tell you to go getcha some shoes without a coupon code!! Here are two you can try: FABULOUS10 for an extra 10% off and fallship for free shipping (you won’t see the shipping come off until the end.)

Enjoy some comfy fashion this fall with these new styles!  Thanks, Crocs for letting me try them out!

Emily organized a great blogger event at an awesome restaurant, Chi-nattis, last Thursday, so I decided to try out the Mary Kay Metro Chic collection for this special night! I wore the eye glimmer in Disco (a silver), the liquid eyeliner in purple (which I LOVED. I had never worn liquid eyeliner before, much less PURPLE, and I adored it!!), the baked powder in Dusk, and the lip vinyl in Attitude. Here’s how my look came out:

(is it just me or is my NOSE beginning to look PREGNANT?? Gah!!)

The eyes. I really love how they came out! I wasn’t daring enough to do the purple and blue eyeshadow for this low-key night with the girls, but I’ve worn them individually since then and they are so pretty! The silver “Disco” color was perfect for what I needed that night.

I only wish I’d had time to do my nails with some of that fab nail lacquer, but I ran out of time.

So, I am going to give the Metro Chic collection two thumbs up! I love having a bit of drama and glimmer on my face and this collection certainly provides it. And the clutch that holds it all? To die for! See?
