Renew and Redo Your Bath with Home Depot

Remember a few weeks ago when I told you about Home Depot’s Renew and Redo Your Bath sale? You have a few more days to take advantage of it!

Really, it doesn’t take much to make a bathroom feel (and work) a lot better! We simply changed the shower head in our bath tub, and it completely changed how bath night goes at our house. My kids no longer scream like they are being maimed when I’m washing their hair, because the water comes out at such an easy, even flow now.

Want to do something but not sure what? Take a look at Home Depot’s Bath How-To Center. They’ve got inspiration for your bathroom – and every other room of the house! They’ve also got buying guides, calculators, design tools, and everything you need to make a DIY project manageable.

So go check out Home Depot’s Renew and Redo event – but hurry, because it only lasts until February 23!

Review: Sleepy Wrap carrier

One of the very fun things about having a new baby is getting to review some excellent baby products.  The Sleepy Wrap is one of those products I was very happy to review!  It’s a very versatile, comfortable way to wear your baby.  It’s just one big piece of fabric that can be worn multiple ways, and is ideal for your baby’s first year of life, although you may wear it much longer as long as you and your kiddo are comfy in it!

I am not intuitively good at figuring things out, but the Sleepy Wrap was easy to put on and put Jonah in once I watched their great instructional video a couple times.  And it is SO comfortable to wear.  And he LOVES being in it.  I’ve had to take him out of it a couple of times because he was so sleepy and comfy I was afraid he wouldn’t sleep at bedtime!

I love the way the Sleepy Wrap evenly distributes the baby’s weight so it doesn’t hurt my back, my shoulders, or anything else.  The fabric is a really high-quality knit and feels great.  I got brown, a nice unisex color, so Bobby can wear the baby in it too.  It’s a one-size fits all wrap so we can share baby-wearing duties!

Wearing the Sleepy Wrap I can do dishes, laundry, vacuum – all kinds of things and also have a happy baby!  Not to mention it is great to wear him in anywhere I need to go.

I love the Sleepy Wrap!  To check out more of it’s great features, just visit the website.

Review: Philips AVENT Double Electric Breast Pump

Now that Jonah is eight weeks old, I figured I’d better see if he will take a bottle so I can leave the house without him once in awhile!  I had a double-electric breast pump with that I used with both of my other kids, but since you know, I thought I was DONE (how many times can I say that!? Whoops!), I gave it away.  So I was *thrilled* when Philips AVENT offered me one of theirs to review.  My old one was a different brand, but the manual single pump I also used with both kids was an AVENT and I loved it.

I was a little overwhelmed when I opened the pump, because it looked like there was a lot to it.  However, there was a quick set-up card in the package that showed me exactly what to put where, and it was as easy as pie.  Not to mention, it comes in a beautiful briefcase, and two very nice quality coolers with thinsulate to keep your pumped milk cool.

Once I got everything hooked up, it was time to pump!  After all, that’s what really matters, right?  Well, I was very happy with the way this pump allowed me to express my milk.  I don’t understand the technology, but the pump allowed me to choose the pace at which my milk was expressed – there was no dial, no levels to choose from – just the action of my hand on the pump and the touch of a button.  The pump then mimicked the rhythm I had chosen – it was amazing!

The pump did a great job, expressing my milk quickly (and much more comfortably than my old pump) so I could get on with my life.

I’ve gotta say, I think the pump did a great job and I’m thrilled to own it.  I know I’ll use it a lot over the next couple of years (?) while I nurse Jonah.
