Hooked on Big Bang Theory

Today for the first time EVAH I’m participating in our pal Julia’s “Hooked on” carnival at Hooked on Houses! Emily and I first met Julia when riding and elevator with her at IKEA randomly when we were on our IKEA adventure, then we reunited with her at BlissDom! She is good people, and you should totally read her blog. Especially if you like HOUSES.

But anyways, you don’t have to be Hooked on Houses to participate in this carnival, which is good, ’cause here’s what I’m hooked on:

The TV show The Big Bang Theory on CBS. It is pretty much the funniest show in the history of the world! It’s about two PhD physicists (Leonard and Sheldon) and their two other nerdy friends who live a nerdly existence playing HALO and reading comic books all the while living across the hall from a beautiful yet unattainable blonde wannabe-actress.

And it is HILARIOUS.

The writing is amazing, and the character of Dr. Sheldon Cooper (on the right in the photo) played by Jim Parsons is HYSTERICAL! Not only is he a nerd, he’s a super-inflexible, OCD, narcissistic nerd with nary a social skill to be found. Or, as Leonard (played by Johnny Galecki) describes him, “Stuck between a rock and a crazy place.”

My hubby and I love this show so much, we bought each other season one on DVD for Valentine’s Day! Ahh, nerd love. Ain’t it grand?

So, I’m HOOKED on Big Bang Theory on Mondays on CBS! What are you hooked on? To see what’s got everyone else hooked, go visit Julia at Hooked on Houses!

Oh, and if you haven’t yet, don’t forget to check out this fun video I reviewed with Joshua!

Cupid Out, Easter Bunny In

Yesterday, the day after Valentine’s Day, my hubby and son ran a quick errand to the grocery store. When they got home, they had a special surprise for me. This:

mmmmm

Ladies and gentleman, Cupid has left the building.

Forget Valentine’s Day, the Easter season has arrived. And let me tell you friends, nothing says “let’s celebrate the death and resurrection of our Savior” like a milk chocolate egg with liquid sugar in the middle.

liquid sugar inside milk chocolate

Mmmmm. I am fairly certain these are going to be readily available in heaven.

Cadbury Creme Eggs were one of my favorite treats as a kid, and apparently I haven’t grown up! The milk chocolate mixing with the gooey sugar creme is just divine (and therefore permissible to be a part of this sacred holiday). It just doesn’t seem like Easter season without them. I can do without Peeps or jelly beans, but I gotta have my Cadbury Creme!!

What treats take you back to your childhood?

Return to Dew Mountain

So, yesterday I got out of the house FINALLY after the huge snow we had this week, and of course I went straight to CVS. Ok, that’s a lie. First I went to drop off some jeans to get hemmed but ONLY because it’s I have to drive past that shop to get to CVS. Oh, and did I mention my DADDY drove me in his 4-wheel drive? Yes, this CVS run was that important! Can you guess what I got? It wasn’t the most profitable transaction ever, but sometimes you gotta dew what you gotta dew.

Five 12-packs of Mountain Dew $3.34 each = $16.70(I already put on in the fridge when I took this picture. Couldn’t waste any time!)
Four L’eggs pantyhose clearance at $1.25 each! WOOHOO! (Couldn’t pass those up!) $5
Two Gatorade/Propel $1.25 each = $2.50
Tostitos $3
Fusion Gamer razor $7.99
Total = $35.19

I only had two coupons! A Rite Aid $5/$25 and a $4 Fusion q
Total = $26.19
I used 24 ECB and paid $3.05 on a CVS gift card, and got back 14 ECB – 10 for the Pepsi products and 4 for the razor!

AND I GOT MY DEW! 😉

How did YOU dew (I can’t stop myself!) this week? For more couponing adventures, check out CVS Superstars at the Centsible Sawyer or Super Savings Saturday at Money Saving Mom.
