Gettin’ Paid to Buy Stuff is FUN!

I had a grrreeeat time CVSing this week! There were many deals to be had, and I had a lot of fun getting them!! I was also able to get some things we -gasp!- needed as well!

iamsgarnier.jpg

This picture actually covers two transactions.
1st transaction:
1 Garnier conditioner: $4.29
1 Garnier cleanser: $5.99
1 Garnier towlettes: $5.99
2 CVS hand sanitizers clearanced at 25 cents each
total = $16.77
Coupons I used:
$5/$15 CVS coupon
$3/$15 CVS beauty coupon
Two $2 off Garnier nutritioniste coupons
One $1 off Garnier conditioner coupon
I used 3 ECBs and spent less than a dollar in cash and got back 5 ECBs for the Garnier products! And you know what is great about that? All this stuff wasn’t even for me! It was for friends and family members who use these products! I love being able to provide this for them and getting paid to do so!

2nd transaction:
1 Iams cat food $8.99
1 Glucerna shakes $10.49
total = $19.48
Coupons I used:
$5/$15 CVS coupon
$10 off Glucerna coupon
$2/$10 Glucerna purchase CVS CRT
$3 off Iams coupon
total = negative 52 cents! oops! I threw in a Payday candy bar, paid 41 cents cash and got 2 ECBs for the Glucerna! I didn’t even have to use any ECBs!

glucernamilk.jpg

I had another $10 off Glucerna coupon, so I had to do that deal again, because we needed some milk. But I can’t go buy JUST milk. So, I got:
Milk $2.99
Glucerna shakes $10.49
Cadbury Mini Eggs 17 cents (filler)
Reese’s 50 cents (filler)
CVS Rapid Release Gels $3.99
total = 18.14
Coupons I used:
CVS $5/$15
Glucerna $10 off
total = $3.14
I used $2.99 ECB, paid 15 cents cash and got back $5.99 ECB! 2 for the Glucerna and 3.99 for the CVS brand Tylenol!

And finally, my favorite transaction of the week:

toedividers.jpg

CVS had a deal where if you bought 3 Essence of Beauty (a CVS brand) products, you got 5 ECBs. Well for some crazy reason these 99 cent toe separators count as part of the deal! So you get 3 for $2.97 and get 5 ECB! Crazy! Anyhoo, Here’s how this transaction went:
1 Nivea for Men $5.99
2 CVS Rapid Release gels $7.98
4 toe separators $3.96
1 Reese’s (filler!) 50 cents
total = $18.43
Coupons used:
$5/$15 CVS coupon
$3/$10 CVS brand coupon
$2 Nivea coupon
7 in ECBs and paid $1.64 cash and got back….wait for it…$22.98 in ECBs!! 10 for the toe separators (I had purchased the other two on a previous transaction – meant to get three oops! So I made up for it on this transaction.), 5 for the Nivea (had also purchased the rest of this on a previous transaction), and 7.98 for the CVS brand Tylenol. My cashier was muy impressed!

Well that’s the end of my CVS fun for the week…I also hit the mega-sale at Kroger, which you can see here. For more impressive deals, check out Super Savings Saturday at Money Saving Mom, and for more Crazy CVSers, check out CVS Superstars at the Censtible Sawyer!

Why Pay Retail When You Can Pay FREEtail??

I was majorly bummed out this week when their appeared to be no great deals at CVS, so I decided to concentrate on purchasing some items I had rebate forms for. There are few things I love more than paying for things at CVS with ECBs and then getting back rebates for them in real, actual dollars!! As a matter of fact, I have gotten back over $45 in rebates this month for things I bought at CVS with FAKE MONEY! Woohoo! So, here’s what I got:

pertplus.jpg

I had a rebate form for the Pert Plus – if you bought two bottles, you get a rebate back for the 2nd one. Here’s how this transaction worked:
Two bottles of Pert Plus for $3.99 each
Two bottles of Tresemme for $4.99 each
One box of Kleenex for 88 cents
I used:
$5/$15 CVS coupon
$2.50/2 Pert Plus coupon
8 ECBs and paid 54 cents cash
I got back 5 ECBs for the Tresemme and will get back a $3.99 rebate for the Pert Plus! YAY!

I had a similar rebate form for Sure deodorant, and we needed Kleenex and juice so…

sure.jpg

2 Sure deodorant at $2.99 each
Welch’s grape juice on sale for $2.50
3 Kleenex at 88 cents each
1 CVS spray hand sanitizer $1.79
5 Juicy Drop pops at $1.49 each (only 4 are pictured because I let Joshua have one!)

I used:
CVS $5/$15 coupon
$2/2 Sure deodorant coupon
$2 Welch’s juice coupon
50 cents/3 Kleenex coupon
FREE hand sanitizer CVS coupon
8 ECBs and $1.07 cash
I got back 5 ECBs (for the juicy pop thingies) and will get a $2.99 REAL MONEY rebate back for the deodorant! Woohoo!

I also bought the Clear Care contact solution that was an ECB deal this week (got back 3 ECBs) and will be getting back a full $7.99 rebate for it. But I sent in my receipt for the rebate BEFORE I wrote down how much it cost me in ECBs and I can’t remember! But it was definitely a profit with the $7.99 rebate!

Then, Thursday I learned via a couponing message board that one of the CVS Monthly April ECB deals had started early! SoftSoap Spa Radiant body wash is $4.99 and already giving back $4.99 ECBs! So I ran right out and got this:

softsoap.jpg

3 SoftSoap body washes at $4.99 each
2 Glade sprays at $1.69 each
I used:
$5/$15 CVS coupon
$3/$15 beauty purchase CVS coupon
3 $1 off SoftSoap body wash coupons
2 $1 off Glade Spray coupons (found these inside my Parents magazine and my Gma’s Good Housekeeping!)
5 ECBs and 73 cents cash
I got back $15.97 in ECBs!!!!!!!!! Not too shabby eh??? I LOVE CVS!

I also got a GREAT deal at Meijer this week on Lysol products! Thanks to two friends, Andrea and Karen for making this happen! Andrea tipped me off about the Meijer 1/2 off Lysol sale and Karen, my favorite enabler provided all the coupons! So, I got all this:

lysol.jpg

18 canisters of Lysol Wipes, 4 Lysol toilet bowl cleaners, and 4 boxes of pizza rolls for $7.20 including tax! The pizza rolls were FREE with doubled coupons, the toilet bowl cleaner was 4 CENTS and the wipes were 29 CENTS because I had $1 off coupons for each one sent to me by the wonderful, smart, talented, KAREN! Yippee!! Now my family and I are all stocked up on these Lysol products for a looong time! When I first realized that couponing could be a real way for me to give to others, I asked my sister-in-law what kind of household products she would most want if I could get them for free or ultra-cheap. Lysol wipes were what she requested and I was really happy to be able to hand her a big bag full of them!

So, even though I thught this week was going to be a bummer, it ended up being a great week of savings and freebies! In addition to all the above, I also got 7 bags of BirdsEye vegetables FREE after coupons and promotion at Kroger, and a Venus Embrace razor, free plus overage at Walgreens after rebate, coupon, and a $5 Register Reward! I only paid $8.69 after coupon for the razor including tax, and got not only the $5 Register Reward but will also get back a full $9.99 rebate plus 10% extra on my Walgreens gift card! Now that’s what I’m talking about!

Allright, now on to Kroger’s! Oh, how I LOVE to go “Krogering” now that I’ve discovered coupons! Kroger was having a big sale on frozen veggies this week so I stocked up! Also their Kroger brand canned veggies were on .39/can so I got lots of those too! Here’s my haul:

kroger3836.jpg

I got all this for $38.36! I know it’s hard to tell in the pciture exactly how much I got but it was A LOT! I got 16 bags or boxes of frozen veggies (all were on sale $10/$10 and I had coupons for the Green Giant and the Birds Eye!), 16 cans of veggies, 18 containers of Yoplait Yogurt (on sale 2/$1.09, my coupons were for 50 cents of 6, which Kroger doubled), 5 pkgs. of Kroger cheese, 2 loaves of Kroger bread, a canataloupe, 4 bananas, a head of garlic, 2 pkgs. of I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter (FREE with doubled coupons I printed off the INTERNETZ!), and 5 cans of Kroger fruit.
