Always Vacation Near a CVS!

This post is going to have to be picture-less because I forgot to bring my camera cord on vacation. Whoops! 🙁 I hit CVS on Sunday to get some deals before we left town on Monday. Here’s what I got!

Two Lamisil foot spray $15.18
Two Playskool wipes $5
One Alavert allergy medicine $5.99
1 CVS brand Cotton swabs $1.50
Total = $27.67

Coupons I used:
CVS $3/$15 (my CVS will take this for 30 days after expiration. It expired 7/20/08)
Two $3 off Lamisil Walgreens EasySaver catalog q’s
$3 off Lamisil manu q
$4 off Lamisil manu q
$4 off Alavert manu q
$2 Playskool wipes email coupon (thanks CVS!!!)
$2 off Playskool wipes CRT (thanks again!!)
$1 off Playskool wipes manu q
$2 off CVS skincare product (works on the cotton swabs)
Total = 67 cents!! With tax I paid $1.49, used zero ECBs and got back 13 ECBs 10 for the Lamisil and 3 for the Alavert!! Woot Woot! The wipes and cotton swabs also count toward the “buy $25, get 5 ECB” baby deal going on, which I am hoping to get a chance to finish when I get home from vacation on Saturday night. We’ll see.

Once we got to Virginia, my BFF Luanne (whose family is vacationing with us) needed some things, and she had a brand spankin’ new $25 CVS gift card from a new prescription she got. I do Luanne’s CVSing for her, so I had her card and CRTs with me also. About 60% of the time when I use her ExtraCare card, it prints her out a $4/$20 CRT. It is just unbelievable and makes me totally jealous! I have NEVER gotten one of those! She didn’t have any ECBs, but over the course of a couple days we did 5 transcations at the local CVS and with CRTs, coupons and ECBs earned we got some great deals! We used $24.26 on her gift card. Here’s what we got:

Six 12 packs of Coke
Three CVS spray hand sanitizer pens
Two CVS brand aloe for after sun
Two CVS brand hand lotion
$10 worth of bagged candy
Three Jumbo boxes of CVS tampons
One Infants Advil
Two packs of AA Energizer batteries
One Energizer battery charger
1 CVS brand generic Claritin allergy medicine
1 Alavert allergy medicine

Shew! All that alone with coupons and ECBs would have cost over $90! Thank goodness there is a CVS in this little Virginia town!

Well, that’s all I’ve got this week…sorry for the lack of photos! For more great couponing adventures (probably with pics!) check out CVS Superstars at The Centsible Sawyer and Super Savings Saturday at Money Saving Mom!

Me Likey Coupon

I had the usual fun at CVS this week. One thing I forgot to mention last time was that one of my fave cashiers asked me to get her started couponing! I was ever-so-flattered! So now when I come in she tells me about her deals. One day this week she was like “I’ve got like 6 razors now!” Rock on, girlfriend!

So here’s some of what I got:

cvspert.jpg

Pert plus BOGO at $3.79
2 Crest $4.98
1 Colgate $2.99
1 Infant’s Advil $5.79
Total = $17.55
Coupons used:
CVS $3/$15 ( I also found out this week my CVS takes these for 30 days after expiration!)
$3 off Pert manu q
$2 off Pert manu q
$1 off Crest manu q
Two $1 off Crest Walgreens ES catalog q’s
75 cents off Crest manu q
$1 off Colgate manu q
$1 off Children’s advil manu q

Total = $3.80 – well it should have been, but she missed one of my Crest #1 off Wags coupons. But I do not complain if it’s a small amount, cause these people are very good to me! I paid with 3 ECB and about $2 cash (with tax) and got back $5.79 ECB for the Advil, $3 for the Crest and $2 for the Colgate. HOLLA!

Next up:

cvscovergirl.jpg

Cover Girl foundation $5.49
Cover Girl powder $0 (BOGO with the foundation)
Infant’s Advil $5.79
Energy shots $4.99
total = $16.27

Coupons: CVS $3/$15
Cover girl BOGO free $-5.49
$1 off Infant’s Advil q
Total = $6.78
I paid with $7 in ECB (adjusted down to $6.78) and 22 cents cash and got $4.99 ECB for the energy shots and $5.79 for the Advil. Yee-ha!!

And here’s my favorite transaction of the week:

cvsdew151.jpg

Mmkay so it’s been established on this here blog that I have a *BIT* of a problem with Mountain Dew. Well, I only had three 12-packs left so I was gettin’ a little twitchy, but happily CVS had them on sale 5 for $12 this week and there was a Walgreens in-ad coupon for buy 3, get one “limited edition” Mountain Dew 12-pack free. HOLLA! So…

5 12-pks of Dew $12
1 Crest $2.49
1 Colgate total $2.99
Total = $17.48

Coupons:
CVS $3/$15
$1 Crest manu q
$1 Crest Walgreens ES catalog q
$1 Colgate manu q
$2 Colgate CRT
One FREE 12-pack Walgreens in-ad q -$3
total:$6.48
I paid with 5 ECB and $1.51 on a CVS gift card (got because Joshua had to have a prescription this week – more on that Monday!)
Got back 3.50 ECB, 1.50 for the Crest and 2 for the COlgate. Wohhoo! That’s how I like to buy my DEW!

I also did a smidge of Walgreensing this week, even though their RR deals make me nervous (because half the time they DON’T WORK!!) Since Kellogg’s had that FAB $10 rebate in the paper, though, I could not resist! For the Kellogg’s rebate, you had to buy 10 items in one transaction. SO I got this:

kelloggs.jpg

I used 2 $1/2 Special K coupons and 2 $1/2 Pop Tarts coupons and a $5 RR from last week’s diaper deal, and paid $13. I should have gotten back TWO $5 Register Rewards (one for the cheez-its/pop tarts and one for the Special K) but if course I only got one. However, there was no point in arguing since the WAGS people are clueless about their promotions and in my experience AT BEST will give you a form to fill out that you can mail to get your RR. With two cranky kids in the cart, it wasn’t worth it, especially since I am getting back the $10 Kellogg’s rebate, I will still profit $2 overall from buying this stuff. ANYWAYS!! I then bought this stuff:

wags214.jpg

2 bottles of much-needed Shout at $2.50 each
Pert Plus $3.79
Wyler’s $1
Pens 9 cents per 10-pack (with Walgreens in-ad coupon)

I used a $2 off Pert Plus q, two 75 cents of f Shout q’s, and my $5 register reward from the Kellogg’s deal. I paid $2.17 and will get back a little over $4 rebate for the Pert Plus and $2.20 for the Shout. So that was also a nice profit!

We didn’t need many groceries this week, I just got a few necessities and spend $7.79 thanks to my couponing STOCKPILE!! Yay!!

That’s it for me this week! How did YOU do!? To see how the rest of the frugal blogosphere did, check out The Centsible Sawyer and Money Saving Mom.

Going Steady with CVS and Flirting with Walgreens

I was a little bummed out about the CVS deals this week. My area didn’t get quite as many of the fabulous ECB deals that the rest of the country did! But, since my CVS accepts expired CVS q’s for 30 days and competitor q’s, it turned out to be an ok week!

soleil.jpg

This was my first transaction of the week:
Bic Soleil razor $5.99
Bic Soleil cartridges $5.99
M&M’s 50 cents
Benadryl $4.99
Total = $17.47
Coupons:
CVS $3/$15
$4 off Bic Soleil manu q
$2 off Bic Soleil manu q (printable)
Two $2 off Bic Soleil Walgreens EasySaver catalog q’s (woot!)
$1 off Benadryl CRT (on my CVS receipt)
$1 off Benadryl manu q
$1 off Benadryl Walgreens ES catalog q
Total = $1.47 before tax
I can’t find my receipt, so I don’t remember what it was with tax, but it was $2-something. Didn’t use any ECBs and got back 5 ECB for the Soleil purchase (July monthly deal!) Plus the Benadryl counted toward the Johnson & Johnson by 20, get 10 ECB deal, and the M&Ms counted toward the Buy 10, get 5 candy deal. Yay!

Next up:

Two Colgate Total @ $1.50 each
Schick Intuition $3.99
Benadryl $4.99
Tums $3.69
2 Starburst $1
Glade candle refill $3.29
Total = $19.96
Coupons: CVS $3/$15

Two $1 off Colgate Target q’s
$2 off Tums CRT
$1.25 off Tums manu q
$1 off Glade CRT
$2 off Schick manu q
$2 off Schick Walgreens ES q
$1 off Benadryl manu q
$1 off Benadryl Walgreens ES q
Total =$3.21
I paid with 3 ECB and with tax paid 56 cents cash and got back 11 ECB. 10 was for completing the J&J deal with the Benadryl (I had bought the rest on an earlier transaction, where I also completed the candy deal!) and 1 for the Glade refill! Yippee!

Friday I had to go get the Infants Advil drops that are free after ECB this month(since it was August first!) and because Sophie had been running a fever and I used up the last of our infants Motrin. So that was well-timed. Here’s what we got:

cvs83cents.jpg

Two CVS Cottonballs $1.98
1 Schick Intuition $3.99
4 Starbursts $2 (I LOVE THEM!! And I was working toward that candy deal one more time!)
Infants Advil $5.79
Visine drops (for hubby) $4.89
2 Colgate Total $3
Total = $21.65
Coupons:
CVS $3/$15
$2 CVS skincare (works on cottonballs!)
$2 off Schick manu q
$2 off Schick Walgreens ES q
$1 off Advil printable
$3 off Visine manu q
Two $2 off Colgate Target q’s
One $1 off Colgate manu q
One 50 cents off Colgate manu q
$1 off Colgate Total CRT
Total =$5.15
I paid with 5 ECB and 83 cents cash and got back 5.79 ECB for the Advil!! And we needed that PRONTO as well as the Visine for my hubby’s allergies.

I did flirt with Walgreens’ just a *smidge* this week! On Saturday July 26th, I discovered a great new (to me) blog, Being Frugal is Fabulous, and there learned that on that very day, because of the Walgreens EasySaver July and August catalogs overlapping that day, I could get paid to buy some diapers! Yes, please! The July coupon and August coupon were both for $5 off 2 jumbo packs of Wags diapers. So I ran out to Walgreens. There was also a July deal where if you bought THREE jumbo packs of diapers, you got a $5 Register Reward. Two things made this an awesome deal: 1) The coupons each took $2.50 off EACH pack of diapers, not just $5 off of two, and 2) the Walgreens diapers were on sale for $5.99 that week. SO I got these babies:

wagsdaipers.jpg

3 packs at $5.99 = $17.97
minust $7.50 July ES coupon
minus $7.50 August ES copon
= $2.97 (plus tax = $4.32)
got back a $5 Register Reward!! WOOHOO!!
I was able to do this twice. Then I took one of my register rewards and some coupons and bought milk, Pert Plus, and a dark chocolate mocha Frappucino (so, SO good!) for $1.34 and I will get back a $4 rebate for the Pert Plus. Yippeeeee!

Allright that is it for me! How did you do this week? For more crazy couponers, check out Money Saving Mom and The Centsible Sawyer!
