Excited! About! CVSing!

This week I had my first good, fun CVS run in a few weeks. I have been kind of lazy about it, but when I saw that two of my fave new products were on sale this week AND that I had really good coupons for said items, I got myself together, threw (not literally!) Sophie in the car, and headed over to CVS. The two products I was excited about were Tide Stain Release and the Bounce Dryer Bar. Now, it takes A LOT to get me excited about laundry, but I got samples of these babies at BlogHer and they both rock my socks off. Now that I am on a schedule and am doing laundry more regularly (instead of only when NO ONE in my family has clean clothes), these products are really making my laundry life easier and I LIKE-A DA EASY.

So, anyhoo, here’s what I got at CVS!

back to CVSin'. cost me $4.85 but I got 11.99 back!

Tide Stain Release $3.99
Bounce Dryer Bar $3.99
Two Skippy $6
Glade Soy Candle $6.99
Mountain Dew $1.49
Total = $22.46

Coupons used:
$4/$20 CVS email coupon (way expired but my CVS takes them for 30 days after)
FREE Tide Stain Release coupon from BlogHer swag bag!!
$2.50 off Bounce Dryer Bar coupon from Vocalpoint mailer
$2 printable Glade manu q
total= $9.97

I paid with 5.88 ECB, paid $4.85 in cash and got back 11.99 ECB! 1 each for the Tide & Bounce, 1 for the Mountain Dew (you had to buy 2, I had bought one previously), 6.99 for the Glade Candle and 2 for the Skippy.

I was pretty pumped getting all these products I love & use for such a great deal!

Savin’ at the Kroger Mega Event (and giveaway!)

If you’ve been reading this blog for awhile, you know I loooves me some Kroger. With their promotions and unlimited double coupons, I always save a bunch. So of course I was ever-so-pleased when MyBlogSpark and Kroger e-mailed me to challenge me to see how well I could do at the Kroger Mega Event sale, which runs from August 16-September 2nd. They gave me a $30 Kroger gift card from General Mills and PepsiCo to work with, too! Woohoo! Tonight I went shopping, and even though I had to take BOTH my children with me (thank you Lord for the race car carts – I would never get Sophie and my sanity through a grocery run without one) I did quite well! For ALL of our weekly groceries, I spent $47.62. Here are the Mega-Event sale items I got. When you buy 10 items, you get $5 off your order!

Kroger Mega-Event

I had coupons for ALL these items so I saved even more! Before the $5 off and my coupons, these items alone would have cost me $20.40. After the $5 off and my coupons, these 10 items cost me $9 even. Woohoo! That is a HUGE savings! (You can see this post at MommySnacks for coupon match-ups for our area.) And they are all things my family regularly eats and uses. We take brownies to our house church meeting every Sunday, so I go through a lot of brownie mixes, and I am partial to Betty Crocker! Peanut Butter Captain Crunch is my husband’s favorite. My kids love Betty Crocker fruit snacks, and we all love Fiber One bars. So this mega-event was an AWESOME one for us!

Here are the brands with participating items in the Mega-Event:

AMP Energy, Aquafina, Betty Crocker Baking Mixes, Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks, Cascadian Farms Cereals and Bars, Cap’n Crunch, Cheerios, Cheetos, Chex Mix, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Cocoa Puffs, Dole Juices and Juice Drinks, Fiber One, Fritos, Gatorade, Golden Grahams, Green Giant, Hamburger Helper, Life , Lipton Tea, Nature Valley, Old El Paso, Pepsi family of 2 Liters, Pillsbury, Progresso, Propel, Quaker Instant Oatmeal, Quaker Chewy Bars, Starbucks, Sobe Life Water, Totino’s, Trix, Tropicana, Yoplait and MORE!

All the stores in the Kroger family of stores are having this Mega-Event through September 2nd. So make sure and check your store circular or website to see what’s on sale in your area!

Kroger and MyBlogSpark are giving one lucky Mommin’ It Up reader a $30 gift card of their own to celebrate the Mega-Event. To enter, just leave a comment and tell us your favorite thing about Kroger. One winner will be drawn by Random.org on Saturday, August 22nd. Good luck! And happy Krogering!

FREE is the New Black!

I got back in the CVS action last week (but I was in Florida at the end of the week so I neglected to post my finds!) and AGAIN this week. That’s right, I have been two weeks in a row! They’ve been having a lot of back-to-school freebies so I couldn’t resist! Here’s what I got this week:

DSC01764

I got all of this for 70 cents out-of-pocket! I used about 15 ECBs and got back about 21 ECBs! I used a $5/$25 Rite Aid coupon (my CVS takes competitor q’s) and one $2 and two $1 manufacturer q’s for the Tylenol – plus I had a CVS CRT for $2 off any Tylenol and another one for $2.50 off a $10 pain reliever purchase! The Tylenol wa $3.99 with 3 ECB back, so I “made” a few bucks on it! All the school supplies were free after ECB so it was a GREAT shopping week! Here’s hoping they keep bringing on the deals, I had a great time getting my coupon on this week!
