What’s Cookin’ Wednesday (and another giveaway!)

Last week I told you two things – that I am trying to be a better cook and that I’ve realized how important good equipment is! This is part two of the four part What’s Cookin’ Wednesday series, during each of which I’ll be doing a giveaway for an amazing product from ScanPan!

This week’s piece of equipment is their Professional Nonstick Square Grill Pan.

Here’s a little bit about the pan:
This practical grill pan is a necessity for low-fat cooking. Great for searing and grilling sandwiches, hotdogs, hamburgers, and thinly sliced meats and vegetables. Its clean, elegant design is unique and modern. Dishwasher safe.

I, for one, was thrilled to read that “dishwasher safe” part because I didn’t think it was! That is pretty awesome.

I’ve used this pan to make hamburgers and hotdogs and it works very well for both, just like they promised. I hadn’t thought of using it to grill sandwiches, but that is a great idea. I’m picturing a Panera panini. But then again, it would be me cooking so it probably wouldn’t be that pretty.

Speaking of not pretty, here’s the bacon I cooked in this poor unsuspecting pan just the other night.

Believe me, that is USER ERROR, it was not the fault of the pan. But I couldn’t let you think I was becoming too good of a cook! You should have seen the pancakes that went with the bacon.

Yeah, it turned into a Papa John’s night. After I turned off the smoke alarms.

Anyway! I am giving one of these babies away, and to whomever wins – I want to see pictures of the pretty bacon you make!

So here’s how you can win the ScanPan Professional Nonstick Square Grill Pan:

Giveaway: $50 credit to Snapfish!

I started using Snapfish in college. Back then, I would package up my rolls of film in the pre-paid Snapfish mailer and ship them off. They’d develop them into lovely prints but the kicker was that they’d ALSO post them online and I could send them to my friends. In the pre-Facebook, pre-scanner days, this was a VERY BIG DEAL!

Snapfish is still going strong, and they’ve got a lot of products that would make great gifts for the holidays. They’ll put pictures on just about anything – from coffee mugs to neckties to boxer shorts! You could probably do all your holiday shopping right from their site. And, of course, they’ve got holiday cards.

Snapfish allowed me to try out their card making software, and it was fun! Here’s what I came up with.

Such cuties!

And here’s where it started to go downhill… I started to get a little punchy with the captions.

As cute as those are, none of the above is what I picked for our actual Christmas card. I didn’t want to give it away! But believe me, it is adorable.

Snapfish has holiday cards for every budget, and now through November 30 they’re offering free shipping on two or more orders of cards. That saved me $8.99! Just use coupon code 2CARDSFS. They also have several other specials going on – make sure to click on their “special offers” page!

Want to win a $50 credit to try it out for yourself? Here’s how to enter!

Required entry: Leave a comment on this post and tell us about your Christmas card plans.

Giveaway: Bob Evans Family Meal To Go!

I looooove Bob Evans. When Jenny and I were pregnant for the first time and we worked together (in the same office. By ourselves. Can you imagine?), we got carryout from Bob’s approximately three times a week. Not exaggerating! Andy and I used to go there with my grandparents all the time as well, but after the kids were born we stopped going so often because it’s kind of far away and took a lot of time.

But now we can have Bob Evans whenever and wherever we want!

Bob’s now has family sized meals to go. Check out the offerings:
Slow Roasted Turkey Breast & Dressing
Turkey Bacon Cheddar Pasta
Grilled or Fried Chicken
Pot Roast Stroganoff
Cranberry Pecan Chicken Salad
Chicken & Broccoli Alfredo
Roast Beef
Chicken Parmesan
Meat Loaf
Spaghetti with Meat Sauce

Then you pick your side item and choose garlic bread, biscuits or rolls (get the rolls, trust me)…. and voila. Dinner in an instant. All for under $20. Best of all, lots of Bob Evans locations have curbside pick up, which means they will bring your food to you, which means you don’t have to get your kids out of the car – which we all know is priceless.

Our family tried out the fried chicken, and it was delish… as all things from Bob Evans are.

Want to try one for yourself? We’re giving away one Family Meal to Go! Here’s how to enter:

Required entry: Leave a comment on this post and tell us which meal you’d pick for your family.
