Have you all been reading Blissfully Domestic lately? YOU SHOULD BE! Particularly my precious little pet, Blissful Style. You can learn all sorts of amazing things at Blissful Style! Like, should you really pay big bucks for a flatiron? Will fake eyelashes make you look totally HAWT or totally ridiculous? How do you find the perfect size bra? And my personal favorite, How do you hide that Holiday weight??

I have some wonderful contributors who write for Blissful Style, and I hope you’ll all go visit their blogs! Here are just a few of the lovely ladies who make Blissful Style a success. I will feature all of them in the coming weeks.

Kathy Friend – a TRUE fashion expert! She’s got all the answers to your fashion questions at Fashion Answers.
SlynnRo – you’ll have fun peeking into the life of this skin-care-addicted, beautiful lawyer.
Laurin – of Laurin and Kelly Talk. Y’all already know I love her. Go get cozy with her & Kelly!
Shannon Nelson – a full-time working mom of FOUR beautiful boys, she’s a PR queen and gets her glam on at A Girl’s Gotta Spa!
Luanne – my real-life BFF, Mary Kay lady, and homeschooling mama. Go say hi to her at I Want MK!

Ok, one last shout-out, this one to my hubby. Today marks thirteen years to the day we started dating. Which means a) we are really old and b) we are really blessed. I love you Bobby!

Let’s Talk About Me, Shall We?

I’ve had a few things going on lately, and I feel a little disconnected. It’s Sophie’s birthday week, and I am utterly unprepared. Haven’t even sent out the evite for her party yet, whoops. (Although I think I have decided on a cake). So I am pretty much mother of the year, but you all knew that already. She’s really and truly weaned, and for that I am thankful, if not a little sad. Twice during the week after she last nursed, she got excited when thinking she was going to GET to nurse, and it broke my heart. Really, there is nothing funny about a crying toddler sticking her hand down your shirt and saying her newly-learned word “Please”. It’s a killer. But this past week she was fine and seems to be starting to be adjusting and it’s a relief.

So it is time to move on. There are a whole host of things I’ve said I would do after Sophie was weaned, and it’s time to do them. I need to get a sleep study done and find out why I can’t sleep. I need to get my #@! wisdom teeth out before they push my teeth together so hard that the front ones just pop right out of my head. I need to find out how to get my hormones back to normal.

I don’t want to do any of it. I just want it to be done.

*Sigh*

But first I have to get through Soph’s birthday, and then I’ll have the holidays to use as my excuse, right? So…I guess we’ll just have to pick this conversation up later…

In the meantime, I’d love for you to take a look at some of what I’ve been up to. Yesterday I published the Blissful Style 2008 Holiday Gift Guide over at Blissfully Domestic. Lots of stylish gifts at lots of different price ranges! Please go check it out and let me know what you think! Also, on Sunday, I guest posted at Velveteen Mind, in an effort to save Megan’s NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month) efforts. I’d tell you what she calls NaBloPoMo but my mom reads this blog, so you will just have to head over there and find out for yourself!

Oooh one more little thing I need to let you in on. Did you like the contest we posted yesterday? I hope so, and I hope you get used to it! To celebrate the craziness that leads up to the Fa-la-la-la-Lalidays, Emily and I will be doing a giveaway every Monday until Christmas! It’s our Monday Holidaze Giveaways! So make sure and check in with us obsessively several times a day every Monday!

Mmmkay. That’s all I got, fer realzies. Now leave me a comment and tell me to get my ACT together!!

Blissfully Domestic staffers get crazy at BlissDom ’08

When I returned from BlissDom ’08 on Sunday, I returned with more than just some great blogging tips and some new friends. I also returned with a job offer. Alli, Mrs. Fussypants, the brains and beauty behind Blissfully Domestic, grabbed me at the end of the day and shocked me by asking me to become the new editor of the Blissful Style Channel at Blissfully Domestic. Whoa! I was totally flattered and humbled and after she batted her perfectly-mascared eyelashes at me and plied me with a pink sugary drink, I agreed to think it over. After praying about it and talking to my hubby and this nutjob (who happens to the editor of the Photo Bliss channel), I decided to take the leap and say, “I’m in!”

So, I am now the editor of the Blissful Style channel at Blissfully Domestic! {squeals and jumps up and down!} I’m nervous and excited, and a little nauseous, and mostly just really happy to be a part of it. And hopeful that I don’t screw anything up or overwhelm myself. Or make Fussypants mad. ‘Cause she is real good at Photoshop and I really do not want my head on a gun-totin’, American-flag-bikini-wearin’ body. (Although on a fully-clothed Gisele Bunchen would be just fine, Alli dear.)

If you are a loyal reader here at Mommin’ It Up, I hope you’ll become a regular reader at Blissfully Domestic also! Especially the Style Channel! I have some great contributors writing for Blissful Style and I hope I can count on you to show ’em some LURVE. I’ll still be writing as well as editing!

Of course, things are not going to change here at Mommin’ It Up. Emily and I will still hassle banter with each other and bring you the same vomit-inducing exciting content we always do. And while we’re on the subject of bloggy business, Em and I have been doing lots of reviews at Reviewin’ It Up! If you haven’t been over there in awhile, you’ll want to go read about my favorite new children’s book, a product that’s helping my hubby lose weight, and one of Emily’s favorite breastfeeding products.

Thanks for reading, as always! We love our readers! You make our bloggy wishes come true everyday. Now have a great weekend and insert congratulatory comments here:

🙂

(OH! P.S. my BFF Luanne is back to blogging. She took an *ahem*extended break but would now love for you to come visit her and give her a shout out here at her blog! Thx!)
