Vicious Cycle

Tuesday I walked in on the most amazing conversation between my two oldest.  They were sitting on the kitchen floor, coloring together (why on the floor? I have no idea).  I was headed into the kitchen for some reason when I heard Sophie say:

“Don’t you think I’m the best sister ever?”

Joshua gave her a sideways glance. “Well, you’re the only sister I have, so…”

Sophie took this as a “yes” and beamed at him. “I like you too!”

Poor Sophie. She’s too young to recognize indifference when she sees it.

As the little sister of TWO older brothers, I am well versed in brotherly indifference. Case en pointe, I of course Facebooked about this hilarious convo and tagged my dear, dear brothers in my post:

Please note that none of the 14 likes or 4 comments belonged to either of my brothers. Even now they’re too busy for little sister’s attempts at attention-getting!

Harumph.

I feel ya, Sophie!

Clothes that Work is a Dayton-area non-profit that provides interview clothing and image coaching to men, women and teens. They’re asking Dayton-area residents to help local high school girls attend their school proms by donating a new or gently used formal dress, which will then be distributed to the girls in March. For each dress donated, the donor will receive one free ticket voucher to Disney on Ice presents Treasure Trove opening night performance on Thursday, October 18th. The Royal Princess Dress Drive will be held this Saturday, September 22, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Clothes that Work (1133 S. Edwin C. Moses Blvd, Ste. 392, Dayton).

We hope you’ll participate in the Dress Drive – if you’re like us, you’ve got a couple bridesmaids dresses laying around that could be put to good use! RIP PinFTW

After seven months, Jenny and I have decided to lay Pin for the Wednesdays to rest. We’ve had fun with it and we’ve really enjoyed seeing the winning pins that have been shared, but it’s becoming a chore for us to keep up with and – let’s face it – it hasn’t really caught on like wildfire. We’re still active on Pinterest and odds are we’ll post about it from time to time, and if you post winning pins on your blog, let us know – we’ll pimp out your post! I’ll also put up a linky here in case any of you have a post ready this week.

Thanks to all of you who have played along over the months, and all the rest of you who have put up with our nonsense. xoxo
