Oh, I was so sick weeks 6 - 12 with my first baby, that I would lay on the couch and cry. "I wish I was having twins, because I don't want to be pregnant ever again." I could barely eat, though I forced myself; I rarely threw up, but I didn't gain any weight until 20 weeks. Both my girls still turned out healthy ;)

Oranges worked well (I have no idea why). Anything minty (try peppermint tea).

Hope you feel well soon! :)

Sea bands.

Sour or minty stuff.

And just good, old fashioned hanging in there - or punching everyone in sight ... whichever works best for you!

I am sorry. I feel for you. I am in week 13. I also had evening sickness. I bought some ginger ale and saltines from whole foods. I would pour the ginger ale over crushed ice and sip on it for a while. I feel much better now that I am moving out of the first trimester. Hang in there! The ginger ale is also helping me with indigestion too. I wouldn't get the ginger ale at the regular store since it has a bunch of junk in it you don't need.

Also, if it gets really bad...you can call your doctor. Mine lasted the entire pregnancy so I was not gaining weight like I needed to. I ended up on Phenergan for my whole first and third trimester. It's totally safe and, boy, does it kick that nausea!!! (makes you really tired, though!)

I always felt better when I chewed mint gum. There are also these little ginger cookies that they sell at Trader Joe's. They're really tasty and they help A TON. I would eat them in bed before I even got up so that I wasn't so nauseous all morning long. Life saver!!

I think I commented on the Premesis prenatal vitamins before, so I'll add: Water water water. Then go drink some water. Then have another glass. You're in the bathroom half of your waking moments right now anyway--what's a few more trips? I hated being pregnant, but I love the end result :)

With the holidays approaching, I'm sure the next 29 weeks are going to pass quickly! I hope you start feeling better once you enter your second trimester!!

I felt great UNTIL week 11!!! It was alittle joke on me. Lasted the ENTIRE rest of the pregnancy. Here are my tips:
~They make things called preggy pops. Lollipops for combatting nausea. I've seen them at the front counter on Motherhood Maternity stores.
~Red Raspberry Pills from the herb store. Catch is you MUST qiut taking the last month. It somehow tones your uterus. I had a friend who kept taking them, becasue she still felt sick that last month. Her labor from water breaking / first major contraction was about 3 hours long and very rough.
~This one is totally non-invasive. There are wrist bands avalible at drug stores called Sea-Band. They are actually made for motion sickness, but work on all kinds of nausea. I keep a couple pairs at all times now!!! Stomach flu is not so scary with these. It is an elastic band with a small plastic button on the inside. It gives directions on exactly where to place in it your wrist in the packaging with photos, but in words.....(here's my best attempt: Look at the inside of your wrist. At the bottom crease in your wrist place your index and middle finger from your other hand. Just below the bottom finger and between the 2 bones in your wrist is a pressure point to relieve nausea.) You can't push then both at the same time yourself very well, so they make the elastic bands. Can do the same thing until you can get to the drugstore with marbles and tape -- only do this short term!! The wrist bands can be worn 24/7 until the elastic loses strength. They are a beautiful invention.
