Cupid Out, Easter Bunny In

Yesterday, the day after Valentine’s Day, my hubby and son ran a quick errand to the grocery store. When they got home, they had a special surprise for me. This:

mmmmm

Ladies and gentleman, Cupid has left the building.

Forget Valentine’s Day, the Easter season has arrived. And let me tell you friends, nothing says “let’s celebrate the death and resurrection of our Savior” like a milk chocolate egg with liquid sugar in the middle.

liquid sugar inside milk chocolate

Mmmmm. I am fairly certain these are going to be readily available in heaven.

Cadbury Creme Eggs were one of my favorite treats as a kid, and apparently I haven’t grown up! The milk chocolate mixing with the gooey sugar creme is just divine (and therefore permissible to be a part of this sacred holiday). It just doesn’t seem like Easter season without them. I can do without Peeps or jelly beans, but I gotta have my Cadbury Creme!!

What treats take you back to your childhood?

  1. you are funny! I was shocked to see the Easter stuff coming in about a week before valentines day was even here! Next we will see Christmas stuff in June…anything to make a buck! ONe good thing…those yummy eggs mean spring is coming! yippee!

  2. Like WOW! This is so Freaky…Cadbury Eggs…an EASTER MUST! Frankly, I think they were at the last supper…if one looks closely to the Da Vinci painting…they are there.
Isn’t is amazing how we move from one candy season to the other. Valentine’s, Easter, Summer, Halloween, Christmas. Again…we’re nearly twins!

  3. I big puffy heart you but those things? I don’t love those.

Then again, I’m also iffy on jelly beans (exception: Starburst jelly beans), hate licorice and really would just prefer people didn’t monkey with my chocolate and leave a good enough thing alone.

  4. Reese’s eggs

and dr. pepper jelly belly jelly beans.

but not at the same time, of course.

mmm. I’m drooling just thinking about it.

  5. I’m with you, it’s all about the Cadbury Creme Eggity goodness!!! I love me some creme eggs, and a lot of the stores down here in Houston have had them since the Valentine candy went out. Yum!

  6. Reese’s Eggs all the way. I also like a few peeps each year and easter is not easter without them. I like to open the package and let them sit out a while, so they are a tad bit stale too….

  7. I’m with you. I have no will power against Cadburry Cream Eggs. They are SO good. I also LOVE their mini eggs. I can seriously eat the whole (huge) bag in one sitting. They are addicting.

  8. By the way, I went shopping today. I’m blaming you for the fact that I couldn’t resist buying Easter treats today. It’s all your fault!

  9. I love Creme Eggs. And the mini ones just aren’t as good…the chocolate to sugary goodness ratio is off! (At Christmas I actually saw Creme Egg Ornaments! I thought for a minute I was already in heaven! Love em!

  10. Those things…ewww. Now Reece’s Peanut Butter eggs…well, those things are divine. We would make good Easter Buddies. You would stay out of my candy and I would stay out of yours!! LOL
