Insult to Injury

I don’t know how much of this will even make sense, ’cause y’all, I am so tired. Which is pretty much my standard complaint, ’cause after all, I can’t sleep, despite the sleep aid I am hopelessly addicted to. But this morning I am doubly tired, because for two days in a row, in the early morning, I’ve had nightmares.

Or Morningmares. Whatever you want to call them! Bad dreams. Dreams like you kids come to your bed in the middle of the night crying their eyes out over. Yesterday morning I woke myself up thrashing around twice -in my dream I was trying to run away and couldn’t run. (I had the same dream twice, woke myself up thrashing both times.) Then, just a couple of hours ago, after Bobby and Joshua had already left for work and school, I had another real winner, and was screaming in the dream, and I woke up covered in sweat, thinking I had heard my mother yelling my name. I even jumped up and threw open my bedroom door, thinking she was just outside (she wasn’t – but she does have a house key! It could’ve happened!)

So anyways. I’m tired! And apparently my subconscious is feeling a little tortured these mornings.

Who’s got a cure for what ails me?

  1. I had a dream one night, I don’t remember what exactly it was about, but I know that I got out of bed and closed my bedroom door. A

nd then last week I had a dream that an ex-boyfriend was trying to break into my apartment through the patio door (I live on the 3rd floor). He broke the window and I shot him and pushed him over the railing to his death. And then I called my mom and the police came. It was all self-defense and I was in the clear. It seemed so real and then I woke up. LOL

Dreams, they are so weird sometimes. Hope yours subside soon. XOXO

  2. When I was pregnant with baby #2 and couldn’t sleep, my midwife told me to take a Benadryl. As much as I’m against medication, she said it is perfectly safe…and it works, because Benadryl knocks me out like a light! Maybe this would work for you?

  3. are you able to go back to the sleep doc and get a 2nd opinion? I will ask around at the doc’s office I am at and see what I can find out for you. Lavendar smell good bath soap is what I suggest to soak in before you go to bed, maybe the nightmares wouldn’t be so bad. Are you keeping a journal of everything you eat what time you are tired, what time you actually sleep? I will get back to you.

  4. I was having really bad dreams back in August but thank goodness when I stopped taking the pain meds from old fashioned gall bladder surgery they stopped. Whoo!! Really glad about that!! Sorry, I have no words of wisdom for you. Hope they stop soon.

  5. Sorry to hear that you are not sleeping well. If you like drinking tea try drinking Camomile Tea I hope this helps.

  6. maybe…you need to detox. from mountain dew, caffeine, and maybe even the meds….it will be heck for awhile but it may do you good in the end????? just a thought
