When we moved into our house, there was one thing that really bugged me – the hall bathroom. It was painted a cream color, and had lovely accents of a pine cone wallpaper border and stenciled acorns.
Eight years later, it still does.
Moose. On the wall.
It’s become one of those things that I see so often I almost forget about it. Until it’s time to take pictures for a blog post, and then I remember how hideous it really is.
But today is the day – the moose will be no more.
Andy and Sam are on their way to a baseball game in Pittsburgh, so Kate and I are taking matters into our own hands and redecorating.
Needless to say, we’re going to start with some paint. I’ve been scouring the interwebs for days, trying to pick a color, but I haven’t landed on anything. So, of course, I’m turning to you.
The tub and sink are cream, the trim and door are oak. What color should we paint? Also, any tips on removing an ugly wallpaper border?
Now here’s where things get really crazy.
I think I’m going to replace the light fixture as well. Don’t worry, Dad, I watched an instructional video on YouTube and I’m 83% sure I won’t electrocute myself.
I’ll report back with the results! If I am alive.
With cream and oak, I would go with a blue. Which blue would depend on you. Do you have an inspiration piece, like a shower curtain or picture? What colors do you have in your house now? Is it a small room? Have a window? Ever play 20 Questions???? 😉
I was thinking blue too – or maybe green. I don’t have any inspiration, other than wanting to get rid of the acorns! I was going to pick paint and then go buy new accessories. Most of the house is standard white builder paint. Kate’s room is next to the bathroom, and it is SW Mindful Gray. Small room, no windows. Thanks!
Your Uncle Charlie was JUST here and could’ve done that light fixture electrocution-free. If you die I am gonna be PISSED, so be careful!
Also, I am thinking you should re-decorate in unicorns.
Just don’t stand in a bucket of water as you do this. Or if you do, wear rubber boots for insulation. You should be ok.
I think you should go look at shower curtains and go from there. Target usually has a good selection!
What did you decide? I can’t wait to see the update. PS, I hope you didn’t electrocute yourself.
