I won’t tell you what kind it is, but I will tell you that I really dislike our portable booster seat. As a matter of fact, I’ve never really met a booster seat that I like. Well thanks to the good folks at Target, there is now a great alternative! It’s called “Kaboost”! (Isn’t that fun to say? Say it out loud a couple times. It makes me smile.) Kaboost is a portable chair booster that fits on the bottom of almost any chair and makes the chair taller. Geeenius! It’s really light-weight, and it took less than a minute to install. It adjusts to two different heights, (the same heights as standard booster seats do) and has TONS of traction on the bottom so it won’t slip. As a matter of fact, my hubby commented on the traction several times. It made a real impression on him! Also, it stays attached if you pick the chair up and move it. This thing is SO convenient!! And of course, it detaches and folds up easily and compactly so it is not a hassle to take with you when you are going over to a friend’s for dinner. If you are having a hard time visualizing , here are some pics of Joshua using a chair in our dining room fitted with our Kaboost. I will note that the Kaboost is for kids ages 2 and up – Sophie isn’t quite old enough to sit in a chair and not be strapped into it (besides – she can’t be trusted!)

Isn’t that COOL? I love it SO MUCH! It retails at Target for $29.99 and I predict it is going to be the Next Big Thing on everyone’s baby registry. This is one of those “wish they’d had those back when” kind of things. My youngest is the only one in a booster now and since I have three total, I won’t be rushing out to get one. BUT…I’d jump on it as a gift for someone else! Great tip!

I am with Lara… I wish I had that back when. Actually, I probably still could use this with Lucy… espeically since she is insulted if someone asks if she needs a booster seat. She doesn’t want to be seen as a “baby.” But this little number just might solve that problem.
…that rules! I guess we can replace the bed of nails we use on Xander’s chair for height.

that thing is toootally cool! I first heard about it on Donny Deutsch’s show “The Big Idea” and they weren’t in stores yet (at that time). Good to know they are now in Target – but my older kids don’t need one. Here’s one to be thinkin’ of for our littlest monster!!
We just got one of these for our oldest daughter for her third birthday and it is GREAT!! Pretty soon we will need one for our almost 2 year old, but right now she wouldn’t stay in the chair!!

That is REALLY cool!! I’m currently trying to figure out what to put our kids in. We have four ugly folding chairs with lame old booster chairs strapped to them. I want to get rid of them, but I really don’t want to use folding chairs anymore! We just don’t have enough matching chairs for all of us. Ha! The price you pay for having so many children!
How cool is that!!! I have a 3 1/2 year old.. that would work so great.. I detest having to put his booster seat up on the chair and cleaning hahahh 🙂 Thanks for the tip.
Love it! So much nicer than the little blue seat that is currently scratching up a dining room chair despite the towel under it. It looks like it’d really grow with the child, too!
