It’s time to wake up and smell the dementia, people. I am getting OLD. Last week, a couple of days before Sophie’s birthday, I had a serious brain panic because I managed to hide one of her presents…from myself. I meant to hide it from the kids, but instead hid it so well that I could neither find nor remember where I put it. Fortunately, my husband found it and saved the day, as I had looked everywhere and given up all hope. I really had hidden it well, because I never would have thought to look in the place where he found it. Grreeeaaat.
Then this morning, I fell down the stairs carrying Sophie. We are both fine, as I managed to fall backward and at least ride down the stairs on my backside, and I never dropped her. However, my body feels like I was in a head-on collision car accident. My left shoulder and arm are really, really sore and so are both of my upper legs. So now, I have both the agility, mobility, and senility of an octogenarian.
Which means I better close this post up and start writing my obit…while I can still remember my name.
Hey, you are with it enough to come up with the work octogenarian!
Maybe I am not with it enough. Word, not work. Maybe I am losing my mind too!!
Haha…my mom is still finding Christmas presents from when we were younger. One year, she bought me an Atlanta 1996 hat from the Olympics. I got it in 2003.
Glad you guys are okay. Here’s to feeling better soon!
I forget things all the time! I think it comes with having children, they take away your memory or something.
I’m glad y’all are both okay after your fall! I fell a few weeks ago myself and had huge bruises and was sore for days!
Yet another reason I hold comfort in the fact that YOU ARE OLDER THAN ME! Woo hoo!
Ouch! Glad you guys are alright.
Luanne hid my last (27th) birthday present from herself and still hasn’t found it. I wonder what she got me? She had to go out and get me another present.(3 actually, 3 minuature green spotted puffers, thats fish, people, which I loved very much)
p.s. you’re old? this is news? harhar
Ouch! Feel better!! *And man, I would love to be 31 again… maybe next year.*
Ouch!
You aren’t the only one…I forget things all the time. In fact I’m sure there is something I’m supposed to be doing right now…hmmmmmmm?
i am right up there with you… forgetting things and falling while carrying your children.. i fell walking down the street carrying benji and some how twisted my ankle bruised my knew and broke a toe.. and he never hit the ground.
I feel ya. This third pregnancy is doing me in. I have aches and pains all over like a little old lady. And I’m only 12 weeks along!! How will I manage???
And I’m there with ya on the memory stuff. I’m always freaking out because I “lost” something.
Didn’t you know that is Moms’ super powers. They are able to fall down stairs, slip on ice etc. with their children and the children never get a scratch.
Poor dear! I hope you heal up soon. I’m so glad you both are okay!
Glad that no one was seriously hurt. I’m forgetting and misplacing things all the time. I swear I bought a certain book my mom had been wanting for her birthday, but I have yet to come across it. Where’d Bobby find Sophie’s gift? Maybe I hid mine there as well. =)
Awww, everyone has those days (I had one just a couple of days ago!). Glad you two are okay.
See, this is exactly why I procrastinate and shop at the last minute. I can’t be trusted to hide stuff.
I’ve hid many a present from myself, lol. Glad to hear I’m not the only one..;)
